Abstract: Methods of generating a user interface based on content associated with one or more contacts are provided. In a messaging application, such as email, SMS, chat, or the like, an indication of a message in a conversation (e.g., an icon or some other graphic indicating the receipt of a new message) may be displayed. The conversation can be associated with one or more contacts engaged in the conversation. User input may be received that selects the indication of the message. In response, one or more contacts associated with the conversation may be determined. The conversation may be displayed over a background associated with the one or more contacts. For example, the first conversation may be displayed over a contact image associated with one of the contacts.
