  • Patent number: 6280147
Abstract: A metering pump includes an apparatus for adjusting the stroke length of a pump element. The apparatus comprises a lever having a cam which is contacted by the pump element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 2000
Date of Patent: August 28, 2001
    Assignee: Liquid Metronics Incorporated
Inventors: Enrique L. Kilayko, Liam Ryan
  • Patent number: 6264432
Abstract: A control for a pump detects an operational characteristic thereof and applies power to a power unit in dependence upon the detected operational characteristic to automatically and electronically control pump priming and stroke length.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 1, 1999
Date of Patent: July 24, 2001
    Assignee: Liquid Metronics Incorporated
Inventors: Enrique L. Kilayko, Liam Ryan
  • Patent number: 6174136
Abstract: A control for a pump detects an operational characteristic thereof and controls movement of a pump element based on the detected operational characteristic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 13, 1998
Date of Patent: January 16, 2001
    Assignee: Liquid Metronics Incorporated
Inventors: Enrique L. Kilayko, Liam Ryan
  • Patent number: 6105610
Abstract: A valve includes a valve body including a recess therein, a valve element movably disposed in the recess and a seal member disposed in the recess. The seal member has first, second and third separate and distinct sealing surfaces which are engageable by the valve element in response to fluid pressure in the recess.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 1999
Date of Patent: August 22, 2000
    Assignee: Liquid Metronics Incorporated
Inventors: W. J. Watkins, II, Enrique L. Kilayko
  • Patent number: 5526695
Abstract: A movable magnet is captured in and biased toward one end of a passage. A pulse of flow moves this magnet and this movement is sensed by a sensor which sends a signal. A range adjusting channel with a valve therein permits adjustment of the flow which actuates the sensor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 1994
Date of Patent: June 18, 1996
    Assignee: Sundstrand Corporation
    Inventor: Enrique L. Kilayko
  • Patent number: 4781213
Abstract: A ball check valve assembly for chemical pumps. A fluid conduit terminates at a first surface in a port of circular cross section. Within the conduit, an O ring seat is aligned with the port; an elastomeric O ring is positioned in the seat. Spacer means, radially outward of the O ring seat, extends generally away from the port and has a dimension adjacent the O ring seat greater than the cross sectional diameter of the O ring when unstressed. O ring capture means spaced from the O ring seat limits travel of the O ring away from the port, and provides a central aperture for the valve ball, which has a diameter greater than that of the port. The O ring has an ID less than the diameter of the ball and an OD greater than the diameter of the aperture; the spacer means ID is at least about 1/2% greater than the OD of the O ring.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 16, 1987
Date of Patent: November 1, 1988

  • Patent number: 4197875
Abstract: A ball check valve is described having a fluid port, a ball moveable toward and away from the port, a seating surface surrounding the port and an elastomeric sealing element. The seating surface has a conical annular surface extending radially outwardly away from the ball and an annular ridge between the port and the conical surface. The sealing element has an outer sealing surface for contacting the conical seating surface and an annular groove for receiving the seating surface ridge. On its ball side, it has an annular outer surface and an inner sealing surface for contacting the ball. A sealing element retainer contacts the outer portion of the elastomeric sealing element outer surface on its ball side to hold it in position.
