  • Patent number: 11261131
Abstract: The present invention is related to materials of construction in the technical field of architecture and civil engineering, known as construction material for masonry; specifically, it is a compound made with a mixture of biodegradable cellulose matrix which is obtained from recyclable materials through an innovative method. Such compound, reaches higher resistance to compression in comparison to the known quality standards, even thought the resultant clusters, blocks or bricks, etc., are lighter due to their high cellulose content. This compound might be used, but not limited to, as raw material to produce hollow bricks, blocks, clusters and other conglomerates to build houses and buildings.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 2019
Date of Patent: March 1, 2022

  • Publication number: 20110218735
Abstract: Elemental analysis of an earth formation is obtained using measurements from a gamma ray logging tool. From only the elemental analysis and measurements of porosity, density and natural gamma rays, an estimate of the mineralogy of the formation is made treating the problem as one of minimizing a quadratic objective function subject to equality and/or inequality constraints.

  • Patent number: 7932048
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the in vitro diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease using a monoclonal antibody. Said antibody can bind at least to amino acids 12-16 of the ?-amyloid peptide, specifically detecting the neuritic plaques which are characteristic of Alzheimer's disease, without detecting diffuse plaques which are not defining characteristics of the disease. Within the neuritic plaques, the monoclonal antibody can detect a different sub-group in the composition of the different deposited isoforms of the ?-amyloid peptide, which is associated with the disease progression stage. In addition, the antibody can bind to isoforms of the ?-amyloid peptide in biological fluids such as urine. As a result, the inventive monoclonal antibody, the cell lines that produce said antibody and compositions containing same can be used in the in vitro diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and in determining the disease progression stage.

  • Publication number: 20100009391
Abstract: The present invention relates the analysis of foods for celiac patients. In particular, the invention includes: a method for extracting gluten from foods, which is compatible with an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and with the Western Blot technique; compositions suitable for implementing this method; kits that comprise these compositions; a method for the quantification of the gluten present in a food.

  • Patent number: 7585529
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for extracting the gluten contained in a sample using an ethanol aqueous solution in the presence of a composition containing a disulphur group reducer and a decoupling agent, in a buffer having a pH of between 7 and 8. The inventive method can be used to extract quantitatively the gluten contained in a heat-processed or non-heat processed food sample before the quantification of the gluten by ELISA. The method is suitable for food analyses, in particular, for foodstuffs intended for celiac sufferers.

  • Publication number: 20060021824
Abstract: Clamp device (10) for attaching scaffolding or the like apparatus to a large-girth structure (LDP). An elongated base (18) is positioned transversely across the girth. It carries stand-offs (22a, 22b) for spacing the base from the girth. Attachments (46a, 46b) for the scaffolding are at opposite ends of the base. Length-adjustable securement members (24a, 24b) are carried near opposite ends of the base. A flexible elongated girth-encircling member (44), such as a high-strength chain, is extended around the girth, with length adequate for connection to the second securement members which are selectively adjustable in length from the base to cinch the girth-encircling member into tensile condition securely gripping to the girth by tightening adjustment. These adjustable members swing relative to the base so that during their tightening, portions of the length of the girth-encircling member become tangent to points on the girth.
