Abstract: A DC electric motor comprising a tubular support carrying spaced bearings, a shaft journalled in said bearings for coaxial rotation within said support and having a driven end portion extending from a first end length of said tubular support, a rotor comprising a hollow cylindrical rotor body carrying a rotor winding, said rotor body being secured at one end to said extending shaft portion so that the first end length of said tubular support is coaxially freely received within said hollow cylindrical rotor body, a stator surrounding said rotor, and a commutator mounted to said shaft end portion at the exterior side of said rotor body remote from said tubular support.

Abstract: Electric dry shaver comprising a cutting head having at least one movable cutter, an electric motor for driving the movable cutter and electric circuit means for the motor, characterized in that the motor has a stator/rotor assembly of which at least part of the stator is integrated with a frame or housing for the shaver, and in that the frame or housing serves as a reference mounting member for the cutting head, electric motor and electric circuit means.

Abstract: A charging circuit for charging a low voltage battery from an AC supply, said circuit comprising a full wave bridge rectifier, each leg of the bridge including a rectifying element, and means for providing a visual indication of normal operation of said charging circuit, wherein one of said rectifying elements is a light emitting diode to serve as said means for providing a visual indication.

Abstract: A vibratory electromagnetic motor includes a stator unit, a first rotatable armature and a second rotatable armature. The armatures and the stator unit are arranged to reduce motor noise and vibrations when the armatures synchronously rotate in opposite directions in response to a magnetic force. A resilient coupling member is connected between the armatures for combining drive power generated by the first rotating armature with drive power generated by the second rotating armature.

Abstract: A manually operated electrical switch includes a first conductor and a second conductor. The second conductor is telescopically coupled to an electrical contact arranged to be spring biased against an opposing surface. The second conductor is attached to an electrical insulator and assembled in a housing so as to be pivotally movable over an arcuate path between a first position in which the first conductor is in electrical contact with the second conductor and a second position in which the first conductor is electrically insulated from the second conductor.

Abstract: An electric dry shaver comprising a part-cylindrical cutting foil, an inner cutter provided with arcuate cutting edges which cooperate with said foil, and drive means to drive said inner cutter in linear reciprocation parallel to the axis of said part-cylindrical foil. The drive means includes a part-spherical driver head articulated to said inner cutter at a center of articulation substantially coincident with the center of gravity of said inner cutter and the center of application of the resultant of the frictional forces acting between said inner cutter and said foil during reciprocation of said inner cutter by said drive means is substantially coincident with said center of articulation and with said center of gravity.

The electric motor has a rotary output member adapted to drive said cutter support member in generally longitudinal oscillation with flexing of said leaf springs.

Abstract: An electric shaver having a shaving foil and a movable inner cutter cooperating therewith, wherein the inner cutter comprises a cutter body and a plurality of cutter blades mounted thereon, each cutter blade comprising integrally formed first and second parts lying in a single plane, the first part having a cutting edge and the second part providing an abutment against the cutter body, the second part being resiliently deformable relative to the first part in the plane of the blade and being so deformed by assembly of the inner cutter beneath the shaving foil so that the cutter edge is resiliently urged into engagement with the foil.
