Abstract: A detection system for monitoring and recording distance to at least one target. The detection system may comprise at least one module comprising: a power source; a trigger unit configured to detect the presence of the target; an enablement mechanism in communication with the trigger unit and operable to generate an enablement signal upon detection of the target; a data gathering unit comprising at least one measurement sensor operable to obtain at least one measured parameter and to record the at least one measured parameter in a memory; and a retrieval mechanism for providing access to records stored in the memory.
