Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for densification of recyclable plastics. The densification apparatus may include one or more hoppers for receiving plastic materials (mixed or segregated by resin identification code). After the plastic is inserted into the hopper, a shredder grinds the plastic into plastic shreds which are suitably sized for subsequent melting and compression into an ingot. The system meters the quantity of shredded plastic within the hopper for a threshold level required to generate a fungible ingot. Once that level has been reached, a conveyer may transport a set volume or weight of the plastic shreds to a compression cylinder. In the compression cylinder the plastic shreds are heated, using a heating element, to above a minimum melting temperature. In some embodiments, the minimum melting temperature is a melting temperature above a lowest melting temperature of the mixed types of plastics.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and method for monetization of recyclable plastics. Such systems includes a receptacle for receiving fungitized plastics, such as plastic ingots. The fungitized plastic can have a standardized form with a known value that is readily exchangeable for credit, discounts, or currency. Sensors are capable of identifying the fungitized plastic as substantially comporting to the standardized form, thereby confirming the plastic's composition, and weight/size in order to facilitate sorting and proper crediting for its value. The sensors can also identify fungitized plastics that do not match these standards, which are considered counterfeits and are returned to the user. A sorter collects all the identified fungitized plastic of a particular composition together with other plastic of similar composition. Similarly, a crediting system may reward the user for depositing the identified fungitized plastic.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bookmark for finding a desired page of a multi-page readable item such as a book or magazine having a plurality of pages bound along inner edges thereof, and disposed between opposed covers, said bookmark having a planar elongated section terminating at an upper curved hook-like extremity configured to extend, when said bookmark is in use, from said bound inner edges over the back of said readable item, an inner edge of an outer leg extension connected to said curved section said inner edge is substantially parallel to said inner edge of said elongated section. The present invention also relates to a second use of a bookmark as a coupon and/or a greeting card, to an advertising device comprising such a bookmark, and to a method for advertising such a bookmark.
