Abstract: A method for initializing an electronic subscriber identity module (SIM) is provided. The method includes selecting a first bootstrap profile out of a plurality of bootstrap profiles configured with a device, wherein the first bootstrap profile is set with a first range of international mobile subscriber identifiers (IMSIs); activating the first bootstrap profile; attempting to connect to a first cellular network through an IMSI in the range of IMSIs; and establishing a connection with a central server when the device is connected to the first cellular network. The method may be operated by any device configured to connected to a cellular network.

Abstract: A method and system for provisioning an embedded SIM (eSIM) with an enhanced SIM profile are provided. The method includes creating an eSIM card with a single enhanced SIM profile on a connected device, wherein the created eSIM includes at least an applet; initiating a subscription management data exchange between the eSIM card and various components of a cellular network; initiating a bootstrap control of the applet to restart the eSIM; and configuring the eSIM with the plurality of multi-international mobile subscriber identity (multi-IMSI) profiles and actions related to IMSI profiles, wherein the configuration is performed using over-the-air (OTA) configuration, thereby configuring the enhanced SIM profile with plurality IMSI profiles.

Abstract: A method for providing a virtual multi-line (VML) telephone service includes associating first and second telephone numbers with a telephone, such that the first telephone number is subject to a first billing scheme and the second number is subject to a second billing scheme. A control code is transmitted from the telephone to a network switch, indicating a choice of one of the first and second telephone numbers. Upon receiving a request to connect a call from the telephone to a destination number, the call is connected using one of the first and second telephone numbers while applying one of the first and second billing schemes to the call in accordance with the choice indicated by the control code.

Abstract: A method for providing a virtual service switching function includes receiving a first message from a switch in a telephone network indicative of initiation of a call, the first message including a service parameter that is applicable to the call. Responsively to the service parameter, first and second service control points (SCPs) are invoked to provide respective first and second services in relation to the call. A second message is sent to the switch, in response to the first message, instructing the switch to carry out the call using at least one of the first and second services.

Abstract: A method for collecting information from a user of a telephone includes receiving a request at a switch in a telephone network to open a voice call from the telephone to a specified telephone number. Responsively to the request, a voice call is initiated by opening a first leg of a connection from the switch to the telephone, and a second leg of the connection from the switch to a peripheral device. The second leg is disconnected after initiating the voice call, while leaving the first leg of the connection open. After disconnecting the second leg, signals are received over the first leg of the connection responsively to one or more keystrokes made by the user on the keypad of the telephone.
