A determination unit detects an uncompleted call by receiving a signal from a telephone switch or by monitoring the operation of the network exchange switch. The switch is then interrogated to provide the call details. The data is stored in a format for forwarding to the called party.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a telephone subscriber with data of incomplete video calls is presented. A determination unit detects an incomplete video call, possibly by receiving a signal from a telephone switch, by receiving a signal from a video mail system or by monitoring the operation of the network exchange switch. An interrogation unit then obtains call data which indicates the calling party, and may give further details of the missed video call. The data is stored in a format for forwarding to the called party, preferably as an MMS. If call data is provided for all call types (such as both voice and video), the determination unit may also determine that a given call is a video call based on a call type indicator.

Abstract: A user client for a communication device having several possible states and associated with a remotely located voicemail system. The user client includes a communication module for communicating with the remotely located voicemail system according to a current state of the communication device so as to enable selection of a greeting for output as a voicemail reply from the remotely located voicemail system to a calling party according to the current state.
