Publication number: 20230158319Abstract: The present technology may be applied to selectively heat one or more diseased areas in the lung while limiting heating to the healthy area and surrounding tissue. This heating provides a therapeutic effect. The selective heating of diseased tissues may be achieved by exposing the lung to an electromagnetic field to cause dielectric or eddy current heating. The present technology is particularly useful for treating emphysema as the diseased areas in emphysema patients have reduced blood flow. The diseased areas will heat up rapidly while the healthy tissue will be cooled by blood flow. This is particularly effective for treating emphysema because of the low mass of the lungs and the high blood flow. In one described embodiment the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation is selected to satisfy certain resonance conditions of the apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2022Publication date: May 25, 2023Inventors: Kar-Pan WONG, Eran ELIZUR, Evan GOODACRE, Susanna Kim WOLFF, Daniel GELBART

This is particularly effective for treating emphysema because of the low mass of the lungs and the high blood flow. To avoid heating of surrounding organs the direction of the electromagnetic energy may be switched in a way it always passes through lungs but only intermittently passes through adjacent organs.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2022Publication date: December 22, 2022Inventors: Samuel Victor LICHTENSTEIN, Daniel GELBART, Eran ELIZUR, Kevin James CANNONS

Publication number: 20210254797Abstract: A light source includes a plurality of laser diodes or other light emitters. Beams of light from the light emitters are steered to provide n array of parallel beams that illuminate a target area with an array of patches of light. In some embodiments the parallel beams are de-magnified to form the array of patches of light. Such a light source has application in illuminating dynamically-addressable focusing elements such as phase modulators, deformable mirrors and dynamically addressable lenses. Light projectors for a wide variety of applications may combine a light source as described herein with a dynamically-addressable focusing element to project defined patterns of light.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 25, 2021Publication date: August 19, 2021Inventors: Johannes MINOR, Gerwin DAMBERG, Raveen KUMARAN, Anders BALLESTAD, Eric Jan KOZAK, Gil ROSENFELD, Eran ELIZUR

Patent number: 10690955Abstract: A method and system for forming filter elements on a plurality of display substrates using a digital imaging system operable to selectively deposit filter material at a plurality of deposition locations is disclosed. The method involves receiving orientation information defining a disposition of a plurality of pixels associated with the at least one display substrate, identifying pixels in the plurality of pixels that are to receive filter material for forming a filter element on the pixel, selecting deposition locations within each of the identified pixels in accordance with the orientation information to meet an alignment criterion associated with placement of the filter element within the pixel, and controlling the digital imaging system to cause deposition of the filter material at the selected deposition locations.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: E Ink CorporationInventors: Gil Rosenfeld, Eran Elizur, Gregory Dean Peregrym, David Victor Marcolin, Guy Sirton

Patent number: 6743556Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a partition layer on a substrate by imaging a thermal or laser transfer medium onto the substrate using a imagewise controlled radiation source. A matrix of partition cells are created on the substrate that can, in a further step, be selectively filled with fluid or ink using an inkjet printing technique. The partition layer, the substrate, and fluids to be deposited are selected so that the fluids wet the substrate but not the partitions, preventing bending between adjacent cells.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2001Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: Creo SRLInventors: Eran Elizur, Andrew Lau
