Publication number: 20220221929Abstract: A virtual/augmented reality-based system for guiding patients through rehabilitation exercises and providing real time feedback is disclosed. In various embodiments the system, methods, and computer program products relate to guiding and measuring neck and shoulder motion, specifically protraction and retraction motions. A virtual reality environment includes a fixed object having a guidance feature and a moveable object having a complementary shape to the guidance features. Whether the fixed object is in a complimentary orientation to the movable object is determined. When the fixed object is in a complimentary orientation with the movable shape, an indication is presented to the user to perform a motion. A plurality of sensors determines a plurality of measurements relating to the motion of the user. Whether the fixed object is in a complementary orientation with the movable object is determined based on the plurality of measurements.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2021Publication date: July 14, 2022Inventors: Eran Orr, Miki Levy

Patent number: 11169621Abstract: A virtual or augmented reality based tracking system for assessment of postural sway is provided. In various embodiments, positional data are collected from a user from a headset and/or one or more hand sensors. The positional data is processed to determine the center of mass of the user. In determining of the center of mass, positional data may be given a higher or lower weight compared to other positional data. A virtual reality environment is presented to the user through the headset and may be altered to simulate unbalancing of the user. The raw position data and center of mass are sent to a remote server. A report of user sway is generated from the center of mass. Nausea reduction may be implemented by narrowing a field of vision of the user.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2020Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: XR Health IL LTDInventors: Eran Orr, Tal Arbel, Aryeh Efergan, Omer Weissberger

Publication number: 20200401214Abstract: Provided herein are methods of and computer program products for physical therapy using VR/AR, specifically, for guiding user motion for physiotherapy in VR/AR environments. In various embodiments, a virtual environment is provided to a user via a VR/AR system. An event marker is provided at a first location within the virtual environment. A position of the event marker is adjusted to a second location. Positional data is collected based on the user's interaction with the one or more event markers. The positional data is provided to a remote server via a network and a compliance metric is determined based on the positional data. When the compliance metric differs from a predetermined range, an adjustment is applied to the event marker. In various embodiments, a visual field of a user may be altered and the user guided to repeat a task to assess and/or monitor proprioception.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2020Publication date: December 24, 2020Inventors: Eran Orr, Miki Levy, Omer Weissberger

Publication number: 20200371738Abstract: Provided herein are clinical evaluation and treatment as well as training protocols in virtual or augmented reality that create fully immersive environments, which enable real-time rendering for communication, specifically telecommunication, between two or more parties. In various embodiments, a virtual environment is provided to a first user at a first location. A first set of data comprising positional data of the first user is provided to a second user (e.g., an instructor) at a second location. An activity (e.g., a treatment or assessment protocol) may be received from the second user (e.g., an instructor) and the activity may be displayed to the first user via layering the activity over the virtual environment. An adjustment may be applied to the activity by the second user based on compliance of the first user with the activity protocols. Additional users at other locations may also receive the first activity from the second user.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2020Publication date: November 26, 2020Inventor: Eran Orr
