Abstract: A jobsite communications center including a communications module including an electrical power source, at least one speaker and at least one antenna and a toolbox-like housing for enclosing the communications module and having a handle and first and second connection assemblies, the first connection assembly enabling readily-disconnectable and reconnectable stacking interconnection of the communications center with tool boxes, the second connection assembly enabling readily-disconnectable and reconnectable mounting of the communication center on a toolbox-carrying cart in a manner similar to connection of toolboxes thereto.

Abstract: Limiting the sound pressure level presented to the listener's ears by one or more headphones, using processing capabilities of a personal media device. Headphones, coupled to audio signals from a personal media device, include a sensor to measure the sound pressure level presented to the listener's ears, and provide that measure to the personal media device. The personal media device, optionally aided by one or more analog circuits, adjusts the audio signal so that the sound pressure level is maintained within a recommended range.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an audio player and speaker system, and particularly, to a wireless audio player and speaker system. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a portable, rechargeable, wireless boombox-style audio player, for playing audio from an external audio source, and including a wireless charging element for wirelessly recharging an external media device.

Abstract: A speaker frame for a display device, such as a tablet, provides enhanced audio output when a device is docked within the frame of speakers. The speaker frame includes a battery to power the speaker frame operation and provide additional power to a docked device. The speaker frame can also dock to a second base unit, which can include additional speakers.

A charging element responds to new messages with alerts. An application executing on the personal media device can operate with a control program executing on the charging element itself, to control one or more display features of the charging element.

Abstract: A headphone system executing application programs on a media device to perform enhanced functions without burdening the headphones, including a headphone connector which receives signals from the media device, identifies command signals, and makes responses thereto. The system identifies the features of the headphones and what functions can be applied thereto, and performs those functions. The system includes one headphone cup for each ear, each including an embedded speaker and microphone. The microphones provide signals regarding sound present at the listener's ears, which are combined and input to the media device. The programs analyze signals from the microphones and apply signal processing techniques to outgoing signals.

The portable audio reproduction system can include a docking station or similar means for communicatively coupling an audio device to the portable audio reproduction system, thereby reducing desktop clutter and simplifying connecting the portable audio reproduction system with the audio device. The speakers of the portable audio reproduction system can preferably be received within a base portion of the system, thereby protecting the speakers during transport and reducing the overall size of the system for improved portability. The system further includes a speaker housing having at least one second speaker driver mounted therein, the second speaker driver being adapted to reproduce sound across a second frequency band, the high end of the second frequency band being higher than the high end of the first frequency band. A hinged connection is provided between the support base and the speaker housing, whereby the speaker housing can be vertically pivoted about a generally horizontal axis.

Abstract: A housing for electronic devices such as loudspeakers has a control panel on a first surface and a door hingedly connected to and adjacent to the panel. An opening mechanism releases the door from a closed position, allowing rotation of the door about an axis that extends through the hinged connection of the door and the housing such that the door continues movement until the door is positioned along a second surface of the housing and the panel is exposed. When in the fully opened position, the door may be received by a recess in the housing. When the housing is resting upon a surface, the door may be placed in a partially opened position wherein it lies flat on the surface.

The portable media reproduction system includes a docking component wherein the size of the docking component can be adjusted to fit a given portable media player. Abstract: An automatic cable retracting system includes a base and a guide connected to the base, the guide translationally movable along a line parallel to the surface of the base. A biasing device is provided for resisting movement of the guide, in a direction along the line, over a range of motion. A cable having a middle section and a first and second end of the middle section is provided, a portion of the middle section being in contact with and changing direction around the guide. The system can be configured so that a tension on the first end causes the first end to move a length, and causes the guide to move a distance of at least a portion of the range of motion. The system can further be configured so that the length moved by the first end as a result of the tension is greater than the distance moved by the guide as a result of the tension. The system may be integrated into an electronic device, such as a speaker, a computer mouse, a keyboard or the like.
