  • Publication number: 20180316537
Abstract: Techniques may be used to generate a multi-length Zero Tail (ZT) Discrete Fourier Transform-spread Orthogonal Frequency Domain Modulation (DFT-s-OFDM) signal for transmission. A selected allocation of frequency resources may include a plurality of subbands. Subbands may be assigned to wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) (i.e., users), and zero head length and zero tail length may be assigned to each of the assigned subbands according to a pattern to combat inter-symbol interference (ISI). The ZT DFT-s OFDM signal may generated for transmission over the assigned subbands in accordance with the assigned zero head length and the assigned zero tail length.

  • Publication number: 20180270815
Abstract: Coexistence gaps may permit one radio access technology (RAT) to coexists with another RAT by providing period in which one RAT may be silent and another may transmit. Methods may account for the RAT traffic and for the presence of other secondary users in a channel. Methods may be provided to dynamically change the parameters of a coexistence gap pattern, such as the duty cycle, to adapt to both the RAT traffic and the presence of other secondary users. Methods may include PHY methods, such as synchronization signal (PSS/SSS) based, MIB based, and PDCCH based, MAC CE based methods, and RRC Methods. Measurements may be provided to detect the presence of secondary users, and may include reporting of interference measured during ON and OFF durations, and detection of secondary users based on interference and RSRP/RSRQ measurements.

  • Publication number: 20180076947
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products directed to low latency, bandwidth efficient communications with low duplex spacing (LDS) are provided. The LDS communications are facilitated by partitioning a (e.g., single) channel to include DL and UL portions (or “bandwidth fragments”) with low duplex spacing between the DL and UL portions. Among the new methodologies provided herein is a method that may include partitioning a channel to include a first bandwidth fragment that is bounded by, and overlaps or has low duplex spacing with, a pair of non-overlapping bandwidth fragments that are symmetrically offset symmetrically from a reference frequency associated with the channel; receiving a receive signal while transmitting a transmit signal on either the first bandwidth fragment or the pair non-overlapping bandwidth fragments; and using any of cancellation and interference reduction to reduce a portion of the receive signal that corresponds to the transmit signal.

The first physical uplink control channel has a first timing adjusted by the first timing advances but not by the second timing advances and a first power level adjusted by the first power control commands but not by the second power control commands. The WTRU transmits a second physical uplink control channel using a second uplink component carrier. The second physical uplink control channel has a second timing adjusted by the second timing advances but not by the first timing advances and a second power level adjusted by the second power control commands but not by the first power control commands.

  • Publication number: 20170264476
Abstract: A resource block (RB)-based multicarrier modulation (MCM) transmitter and receiver structure for spectral agile systems are disclosed. The transmitter and the receiver are capable of sharing opportunistically available and non-contiguous channels with other users. The RB-MCM partitions the available spectrum, contiguous or non-contiguous, into multiple RBs (same or different sizes), applies a baseband MCM or single carrier modulation, or coded single carrier or multicarrier schemes in each RB with a type of spectral leakage reduction technique, and applies RB modulation for each RB to modulate the signal from baseband to the frequency band of that RB. At the receiver, the received signal may be filtered and RB demodulation may be applied to put each RB signal in baseband and a baseband multicarrier or single carrier or coded single carrier or coded multicarrier demodulation may be applied to each RB signal. Different RBs may use different modulation schemes.
