  • Patent number: 8005855
Abstract: Providing a user with scheduling information for a defined period of time. Calendar data which is indicative of the user's availability during the defined period of time is obtained based on an electronic calendar associated with the user. Event data which is indicative of event scheduled during the defined period of time is retrieved. The obtained calendar data and the retrieved event data are graphically displayed as a function of the defined period of time so that one of the event data and the calendar data is overlaid on the other of the event data and the calendar data.

  • Publication number: 20110074739
Abstract: A machine vision input system includes a light-transmissive key including a base surface and an opposing touch surface. The base surface is configured to optically mate with a display surface so that images displayed on the display surface are viewable through the touch surface. An optically-recognizable signature is registered to the light-transmissive key for detection by an image capture device. The optically-recognizable signature provides machine vision differentiation from other optically-recognizable signatures while transmitting images displayed on the display surface for viewing through the touch surface of the light-transmissive key.

  • Publication number: 20100295820
Abstract: A light-induced shape-memory polymer display screen is provided herein. One example display device includes a display screen having a topography-changing layer including a light-induced shape-memory polymer. The display device further includes an imaging engine configured to project visible light onto the display screen, where the visible light may be modulated at a pixel level to form a display image thereon. The display device further includes a topography-changing engine configured to project agitation light of an ultraviolet band towards the display screen, where the agitation light is modulated at a pixel level to selectively change a topography of the topography-changing layer.

  • Publication number: 20100201636
Abstract: Various embodiments related to the presentation of a multi-mode digital graphics authoring program are disclosed herein. One embodiment provides a computing device comprising a multi-touch display, a processor and memory comprising instructions executable by the processor to detect an initial touch of a physical object on the display, to display a workspace border defining a bounded workspace, to display a contextual menu associated with the bounded workspace, and to receive a touch input requesting an application setting selected from the contextual menu to be applied within the workspace border. The instructions are further executable to detect a subsequent touch within the workspace border, and, in response, to apply the application setting to the subsequent touch detected within the workspace border, to detect a subsequent touch outside of the workspace border, and, in response, not to apply the application setting to the subsequent touch detected outside of the workspace border.

  • Publication number: 20090313555
Abstract: Method for automatically generating a friend subset from user contacts based on events. Social events data associated with the user are received and the received events data defines a social connection between a contact in a contact list and the user at a future occurrence. Contacts from the user contact list are identified, and each of the identified contacts includes an identity information associated therewith. It is determined whether one of the identified contacts from the contact list is associated with the defined social connection. A friend subset friend contacts is selected when it is determined that the friend contacts are associated with the social connection. The selected friend subset is displayed to the user on a web page. In response to a selection of one of the displayed friend subset from the user, the social events data of the social connection is provided to the user.

  • Publication number: 20090271735
Abstract: Providing a user interface (UI) on a web page. A toolbar section is defined on the web page. The web page includes a content section being different and separate from the toolbar section, and the content section displays additional content of the web page. One or more groups are specified to include one or more action controls associated therewith. Each of the specified groups has a group identifier associated therewith. The one or more action controls are displayed according to the specified groups in the toolbar section of the web page. Each of the one or more displayed action controls includes properties associated therewith, and the included properties define at least one of the following: a name of the action control, a link of the action control, the group identifier of the action control, and a classification identifier of the action control.

  • Publication number: 20090089798
Abstract: Focusing electronic mail messages in a list of messages. Category information is received for classifying particular e-mail messages or senders of the messages in the list of e-mail messages according to a category. The method also includes setting a status data associated with each of the particular messages. The status data indicates the category classified by the user. A first instruction is received from the user for focusing the particular messages according to the category. The particular messages having the status data therewith in the list are focused collectively without altering a preexisting order of the messages in the list.

  • Publication number: 20080319818
Abstract: A method for creating events for use by an electronic calendar application. A computer device running a calendar application displays a GUI having a representation of a calendar. A first widget on the GUI initiates a software routine for defining an event. The routine generates an interface window having a plurality of event detail widgets which allow the user to interactively define details of the event. Once the details are entered, the event is saved as a multimedia object, and the multimedia object is placed onto the calendar representation. Further, details of the event may include additional multimedia content. Also, the calendar representation itself may include multimedia content. The event may be defined with an approximate time frame rather than a specific time frame. For example, an event may be linked to another event rather than to a specific time frame.

  • Publication number: 20080244425
Abstract: A calendar application is disclosed for emphasizing current and near time periods. The calendar application may provide a calendar interface which displays the current time period in the left-most column. Thus, in an example where the calendar interface displays a week of time, the calendar interface may display the current day first, and not Sunday or Monday as in conventional calendar applications. When the calendar interface is configured to show multiple rows of time periods, the calendar application may additionally or alternatively display some of the rows larger relative to others of the displayed rows. For example, in a monthly view displaying four weeks, a default view may present the first and second rows, representing the current week and the following week, with a larger area on the display than the last two rows representing the third and fourth weeks from the current date.
