  • Patent number: 7699693
Abstract: An electronic game card (1) comprising a controller and one or more communication devices (12), all contained within a planar card having three or more sides. The communication devices (12) allow communications between adjacent cards when two cards are placed close to each other, with one side of each card opposite a side of the other card. An electronic card game method comprising: Defining the number of participants in the game; setting up the game; each participant locates his/her cards on a flat surface, adjacent to each other; performing a setup procedure; automatically recognizing the game configuration; detecting and addition of a new card and automatically responding thereto.

  • Publication number: 20090264200
Abstract: An electronic game platform is described. The electronic game platform includes a master, multiple bases and multiple cards. The cards are electrically connectable to the bases, which are electrically connectable with the master. The bases transmit identification data that is encoded in the cards and user input to the master, which runs the game. The master also provides visual and/or audio feedback to users at the bases and provides power to the bases.

  • Patent number: 7099679
Abstract: In some embodiments of the present invention, a signal received by a mobile communication station in standby mode is sampled. The samples are converted to digital samples and stored in a memory. The digital samples include data from a base communication station to the mobile communication station. The stored digital samples are processed.

  • Patent number: 6928599
Abstract: Decoding an encoded block of data is accomplished by partitioning the block into a first and a second sub-block and performing forward and backward iterative calculations on the sub-blocks in separate processes. Based on results of the iterative calculations an output matrix may be calculated for each sub-block. The outputs may be combined.

  • Publication number: 20050143143
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided to enable power saving when operating a communication device in an idle state in a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System. In some embodiments a method is provided to enable universal mode communication devices operating in a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System to determine whether a serving base station transmits signals using a selected Radio Access Technology (RAT) during an idle state of operation. In the case where the serving base station transmits signals using a non-selected RAT, the communication device may select a neighboring base station where an adequate signal is provided using the selected RAT, irrespective of the signal strength in the cell being served.

  • Patent number: 6751448
Abstract: A system for controlling transmission power of a transmitter in a pseudo-random gated output power digital communication system includes a power measurement unit for producing a transmission power measurement only when transmission is enabled, and a processing unit for comparing the transmission power measurement to a desired power and for determining a power setting of the transmitter. A method for controlling the transmission power of a transmitter in a pseudo-random gated output power digital communication system includes the steps of comparing a measured transmitted power at an antenna to a desired power only when transmission is enabled, and adjusting a power setting of the transmitter according to the difference between the measured transmitted power and the desired power.
