  • Publication number: 20230404676
Abstract: A system including a display and a processor. The processor is configured to: (i) receive multiple position measurements indicative of respective positions of an ablation electrode at respective times during an ablation procedure at an ablation site in an organ of a patient, (ii) estimate, based at least on the multiple position measurements, a quality index indicative of a stability of the ablation procedure at the ablation site, and (iii) visualize the quality index to a user on the display.

  • Patent number: 11304752
Abstract: A method, consisting of ablating tissue for a time period, measuring a contact force applied during the time period, and measuring a power used during the time period. The method further includes ceasing ablating the tissue when a desired size of a lesion produced in the tissue, as estimated using an integral over the time period of a product of the contact force raised to a first non-unity exponent and the power raised to a second non-unity exponent, is reached.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 2019
Date of Patent: April 19, 2022
Assignees: Biosense Webster (Israel) Ltd., University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center
Inventors: Meir Bar-Tal, Erez Silberschein, Assaf Rubissa, Garth Francis Constantine, Hiroshi Nakagawa

  • Patent number: 9949664
Abstract: A method, including inserting a probe into a cavity in a subject's body and receiving, from a force sensor in the probe, first readings indicative of a first change in measured contact forces between the probe and the cavity by less than a predetermined limit over at least a predetermined interval of time. The method continues by receiving second readings from the force sensor when the second readings have changed by more than a predetermined force threshold or location coordinates of the probe have changed by at least a predetermined location change threshold. The method continues by receiving third readings indicative of a second change in the measured contact forces between the probe and the cavity by less than the predetermined limit over at least the predetermined interval of time. The method concludes by calibrating a zero-force point for the force sensor according to the third readings.
