  • Publication number: 20090200249
Abstract: The disclosure provides a desalination system comprising an energy source, a pump, an accumulator and at least one desalination unit, the pump being coupled to the energy source to provide a pressurized feed of water downstream towards the at least one desalination unit, wherein the feed of water from the pump passes through the accumulator before reaching the at least one desalination unit.

  • Patent number: 7568307
Abstract: A greenhouse structure has first and second sections. The second section includes moveable and fixed supports and a flexible material retained therebetween. The first section is adapted to bias the moveable support from an initial position to a final position in which at least a portion of the moveable support is more distant from the fixed support. In the final position, the flexible material is tauter than in the initial position.

  • Publication number: 20070170104
Abstract: A filtration tank with a central vertical axis comprises: a first chamber, a second chamber and at least one filter element. The first chamber has a first inlet through which fluid to be filtered enters the tank and is designed so as to provide a swirling flow of the fluid to the second chamber. The second chamber has a second inlet, in fluid communication with the first chamber, and an outlet through which filtered fluid exits the tank, the outlet being preferably disposed lower than the second inlet. The filter element may be disposed in the second chamber and may have a portion capable of free undulation due to movement of the fluid in which it is disposed caused at least in part by the swirling of fluid entering the second chamber. The swirling may be obtained by centrifugal forces induced within the tank at least in a portion of a fluid flow path preceding the second inlet.

  • Patent number: 6863226
Abstract: A rotary sprinkler comprises a body and a rotor. The body has an inlet bore, an outlet bore, and an internal cavity therebetween. The inlet bore has an upstream end connectable to a water supply pipe and a downstream end formed as a jet nozzle. The outlet bore has an upstream end with a rim. The rotor has an axially extending shaft with an axial shaft channel and at least one vane with a vane channel extending away from the shaft and having an outlet constituting an outlet of the sprinkler. The shaft channel and the vane channel define a smooth water flow passage having an open cross-section. The shaft is inserted in the outlet bore of the body to enable free rotation of the rotor. The sprinkler further comprises a retaining ring that is assembled to the upstream end of the shaft of the rotor, is disposed in the internal cavity of the sprinkler body, and is adapted to abut the rim of the outlet bore, thereby carrying axial forces applied to the rotor.
