  • Patent number: 5921495
Abstract: A housing for a safety belt device has a U-shaped base body consisting of a single stamped housing blank folded to form a base, two legs, and a spacer portion attached to each one of the legs. The spacer portions are folded toward one another and connected to one another to form a spacer stay connecting the two legs.

  • Patent number: 4527317
Abstract: In a buckle for a safety belt a pivotable locking bar (13-17) is arranged in relation to the push-in tongue (4) in such a way that the ejector force (11) or the belt force exerting a load on the tongue urges the locking bar out of engagement. To prevent this in the closing position, there is a pivoting lever (21) which can be pivoted as a result of actuation of a slide (27) so that the locking bar (13-17) and consequently the push-in tongue (4) are released. According to the invention, this releasing pivoting movement of the locking bar is assisted because an extension piece (30) is provided on the slide (27) and a projection (32) interacting therewith is provided on the locking bar (13-17), and by means of these, when the slide (27) is pressed in, an additional torque for pivoting the locking bar into the opened position is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 4388746
Abstract: In a buckle for a safety belt, a pivotable latch (13-17) is arranged, relative to the push-in tongue (4), in such a way that the ejector force (11), or the belt force loading the tongue, urges the latch out of engagement. Provided to prevent this, in the closing position, is a securing device which, in one position (FIG. 1), holds the latch firmly in the latching position and, in another position (FIG. 2), releases the latch for opening. According to the invention, this securing device is designed as a pivoting lever (21), in order, on the one hand, to increase the degree of safety and, on the other hand, to lessen the opening force, at a moderate production outlay. The pivoting lever is mounted in such a way that it cannot leave the securing position even under shock stress from any direction whatever.

  • Patent number: 4334341
Abstract: The invention relates to a buckle for a safety belt, which buckle contains two symmetrically disposed swivel latches (9) which cooperate with indentations (11) lying opposite one another in the insertable tongue (7). In order to ensure that both swivel latches will always conjointly engage in the indentations in the insertable tongue, according to the invention the swivel latches are joined together by a drive arrangement so as to make a common movement. This drive arrangement may be formed by two levers (12,13), each of which is joined to one swivel latch (9) and whose ends are joined so as to make a common movement.
