  • Patent number: 5591252
Abstract: A device and a method for the continuous degassing of casting resin. A housing (1) is provided which has an inlet (2) and an outlet (3) for passage of the casting resin and is connected to a vacuum source (4). In order to achieve with a compact design of the housing a complete continuous degassing of the casting resin material, several spatially connected areas (5) are provided in the housing (1), through which areas the casting resin is sequentially guided. A structure (6; 14; 16; 35) for applying the casting resin to a degassing surface (40) are provided in each of the areas. A brush or comb 42 is provided for slicing through the casting resin so that new surfaces in the casting resin are created which are sufficient to enhance any gas contained within the casting resin to surface and be removed from the vessel through the connection to the vacuum source. A transferring structure is provided for transferring the casting resin into the next adjacent area.

  • Patent number: 5409523
Abstract: A device and a method for the continuous degassing of casting resin comprising a housing (1) which has an inlet (2) and an outlet (3) for passage of the casting resin and is connected to a vacuum source (4). In order to achieve with a compact design of the housing a complete continuous degassing of the casting resin material, several separate but spatially connected areas (5) are provided in the housing (1), through which areas the casting resin is sequentially guided. A structure (6; 14; 16; 35) for applying the casting resin to a degassing surface (40) are provided in each of the areas. A stripping structure (7; 17; 35; 37) is provided in each of the areas for removing the casting resin from the degassing surfaces and simultaneously transferring the casting resin into the next adjacent area.

  • Patent number: 5257722
Abstract: A device for filling one or more molds with flowable materials. The device includes several storage tanks (1) for the respective individual components, with each storage tank (1) being connected to one or more flow mixers (4) through a pump mechanism (2) and at least one valve mechanism (3), the casting port (5) of which flow mixers is connected to a mold (6). In order to enable both short inlet paths of the individual synthetic resin components and also a precise, uniform supply of the components to the flow mixers (4), the invention provides that the storage tank (1) and the pump mechanism (2) are combined into one structural unit.

  • Patent number: 5217146
Abstract: It is often necessary to manufacture casting masses out of several components which must be homogeneously mixed in a specific ratio. It can thereby happen that such casting masses harden so quickly that they must be processed in the shortest time possible in order not to react with one another or harden already in the mixing area or in the pipelines and thus result in the possible destruction of the device. The components are in the arrangement of the invention each moved by a pump out of the respective storage tanks into a synchronous dosing mechanism which consists of a dosing chamber for each component, from where the respective now dosed amount of each component is moved with the help of a dosing piston into a flow mixer, with the dosing pistons being thereby mechanically connected and operated by a common drive, and the flow mixer moving the now ready casting mass directly into a mold. The mixing ratios can in this manner be well maintained.

  • Patent number: 4741623
Abstract: Casting resin components (4,5) coming together in a mixer (6) are dosed and circulated by means of pump structures (3). Each pump structure (3) has a dosing pump (17, 9) and a circulating pump (16, 10). The piston (17) of the dosing pump (17, 9) does not leave its cylinder bore (9) during a pure circulation operation, while the piston (16) of the circulating pump (16, 10) alternately exits from its cylinder (10) and again moves into same.Since the same drive is used for the circulating pump (16, 10) and the dosing pump (17, 9), the expense of the system is low.

  • Patent number: 4611982
Abstract: A casting system for the processing of casting resin. From evacuatable storage containers casting resin components are fed to pump cylinders. The movement of the pump cylinders is synchronized through a mechanical connection. The drive of the pistons in the pump cylinders occurs by means of driving fluids which approximately are under the same pressure as the resin components. Leakages across the pistons are avoided due to the pressure equality on both sides of the pistons even when, in consideration of abrasive filler materials, relatively large gaps must be provided between the pistons and their cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4391529
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing and degassing components of synthetic resins includes an evacuatable, cylindrical, downwardly tapering container, a worm conveyor centrally, rotatably supported in the container and a drive mechanism therefor, a cylindrical guide tube closely surrounding the worm conveyor, agitating arms secured to the lower end of the worm conveyor and extending outwardly and upwardly adjacent the walls of the container, and collecting arms secured to the lower end of the guide tube and extending outwardly and upwardly adjacent the agitating arms, each collecting arm having a collecting opening therein which faces opposite the direction of rotation of the agitating arms and is in communication with the interior of the guide tube. Each collecting arm preferably has a plurality of upright baffle members mounted thereon.
