  • Patent number: 4292255
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds selected from the group consisting of a polyisocyanate containing urea groups and a polyisocyanate containing biuret groups comprising(a) introducing an organic polyisocyanate into a reaction vessel, and(b) injecting an organic polyamine containing at least two primary amino groups into the organic polyisocyanate in the reaction vessel at a pressure of from about 2 to 1000 bar through a straight jet nozzle having an internal diameter of from about 0.01 to 5 mmwherein(i) the polyisocyanate/polyamine NCO/NH.sub.2 molar ratio is at least about 4:1 and(ii) the temperature in the reaction vessel is between about -20.degree. C. to 250.degree. C.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 1980
Date of Patent: September 29, 1981
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Hans J. Hennig, Peter Ziemek, Erhard Schellmann

  • Patent number: 4261918
Abstract: In a process for the continuous preparation of chloroformic acid methyl ester by contacting phosgene with methanol at a temperature of up to 50.degree. C. in a reactor which contains chloroformic acid methyl ester as the solvent and in which phosgene is dispersed, the improvement wherein gaseous phosgene is dispersed by already formed and circulated chloroformic acid methyl ester into the reaction chamber by means of a dispersing device, and at the same time methanol is introduced into the homogeneous gas-in-liquid dispersion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 1979
Date of Patent: April 14, 1981
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Werner Schulte-Huermann, Erhard Schellmann, Jurgen Lahrs
  • Patent number: 4096738
Abstract: The containers to be tested are brought into an ultrasonic wave field of which the intensity is assessed so that defective containers are destroyed, while mechanically perfect containers remain unaffected. Since the containers destroyed fall out of their holders, sorting takes place simultaneously.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 9, 1977
Date of Patent: June 27, 1978
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Roland Rupp, Hildegard Schnoring, Erhard Schellmann, Kurt Bauer
  • Patent number: 4092089
Abstract: An apparatus for melt-spraying thermally sensitive material of low viscosity comprises a heatable multi-screw extruder having intermeshing, self-cleaning screws of specified clearance between the screws and between the screws and the extruder housing, a heatable pump for delivering molten material from the extruder to a heatable atomizer and a spray tank in which the atomizer is located for cooling and solidifying the melt-sprayed material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 19, 1977
Date of Patent: May 30, 1978
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4086346
Abstract: Substantially spherical granules of phenacetin are prepared by spraying liquid phenacetin which has been melted without decomposition by means of rapid passage through a melting device in which superheating is minimized. The resultant melt-sprayed granules are superior to crystalline phenacetin in the formulation of pharmaceutical tablets.
