  • Patent number: 9077938
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a developing device, a primary transfer part, a droplet ejecting unit and a controller. On the photosensitive drum, an electrostatic latent image is formed. The developing device forms a toner image by causing a developing agent to adhere to the electrostatic latent image. The primary transfer part transfers the toner image onto an intermediate transfer belt. The droplet ejecting unit ejects droplets onto the toner image on the photosensitive drum after forming the toner image on the photosensitive drum and before transferring the toner image to the transfer member. The controller controls an ejection area of the droplet ejecting unit in accordance with image information of the toner image.

  • Publication number: 20140169851
Abstract: A lubricant coating device includes a photoconductor and a leveling blade that levels a lubricant applied on a surface of the photoconductor, the leveling blade configured to abut the photoconductor in a trail direction with respect to a rotational direction of the photoconductor, wherein a hardness of a tip of the leveling blade, the tip being positioned on a side that abuts the surface of the photoconductor, is higher than hardness of a non-abutting portion that does not abut the surface of the photoconductor.

  • Publication number: 20120224900
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier; a developing section which develops the latent image on the image carrier with a toner to form an unfixed toner image; a transfer section which transfers the unfixed toner image to a transfer material; and a resilient roller member provided on a position downstream of the developing section and upstream of the transfer section in a rotational direction of the image carrier, which applies pressure to the image carrier and rotates in the same direction as the image carrier, wherein when a contact portion of the resilient roller member with the image carrier becomes a non-contact state as the rotation advances, the resilient roller member maintains a deformed state caused by the pressure, and the resilient roller member restores from the deformed state before the contact portion again comes into contact with the image carrier.

  • Patent number: 8088876
Abstract: A copolymer obtained by copolymerizing at least one monomer selected from specific acrylate or methacrylate monomers, at least one monomer selected from specific amino group-containing monomers and at least one monomer selected from specific polar group-containing monomers. A resin for electrophotographic functional component parts, which contains this copolymer, a developing roller in which a cover layer serving as a surface layer contains the copolymer as a positive charge control resin, and an electrophotographic apparatus that includes the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 7881648
Abstract: To provide a positive charge control resin with which an electrophotographic functional component part coming into contact with a toner can be made chargeable in a polarity reverse to the polarity of the toner, and which has superior dispersibility in, and compatibility with, a main binder. The present invention is a positive charge control resin having a copolymer obtained by polymerizing specific acrylate or methacrylate monomer, amino-group-containing monomer(s) and carboxyl-group-containing monomer(s) as copolymerization components.
