  • Patent number: 9411682
Abstract: A method is provided for scrubbing information stored in a data storage system where the information is stored as a plurality of encoded fragments across multiple storage devices. The method includes maintaining on a first storage device a list of metadata entries corresponding to values that are stored in the data storage system at an At Maximum Redundancy (AMR) state, verifying that encoded fragments associated with each of the metadata entries are stored on a second storage, verifying that a corresponding metadata entry is stored on the first storage device for each encoded fragment that is stored on the second storage device, and scheduling for recovery any missing encoded fragments and/or any missing metadata entry.

  • Patent number: 9394843
Abstract: Various systems and methods are described for reducing engine oil dilution in a boosted engine. One method comprises, when engine oil dilution is higher than a first threshold and engine oil temperature is below a temperature threshold, adjusting a position of an air induction system (AIS) throttle, generating a vacuum, and providing the vacuum to a crankcase of the boosted engine to enhance fuel evaporation from engine oil. The providing of vacuum may be discontinued when engine oil dilution is lower than the first threshold and/or when engine oil temperature rises above the temperature threshold.

Abstract: Methods of forming polymer layers on polymer surfaces using surface initiated atom-transfer radical-polymerization (ATRP) are described. The method can include functionalization steps prior to performing surface initiated ATRP, such as hydroxylation steps and/or halogenation steps. The hydroxylation step can be carried out in a solution including potassium persulfate, ammonium persulfate, or lithium hydroxide. The halogenation step can also be carried out in a solution. The methods described herein can be performed on bundles of hollow polymer fibers, including bundles of hollow polymer fibers mounted in a module.

  • Publication number: 20160191580
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, are described for monitoring conference session resources in a media-based conferencing system. A server computing device establishes a connection to media engines hosting in-process conference sessions. The server periodically captures system level information, application level information, and meeting size associated with each of the conference sessions. The server determines a session state associated with each of the conference sessions, and determines a pool of available computing devices to provide resources to the conference sessions. The server allocates available computing devices to the in-process conference sessions based upon the session state and periodically reports the session state and the pool of available computing devices to a network API module, which determines a routing for subsequent communication session requests based upon the reported session state and pool of available computing resources.

  • Publication number: 20160162670
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for managing and tracking commands associated with a change on a managed computer system. The managed computer system receives a log-on of an administrator onto the managed computer system, determines the lockdown level of the managed computer system by querying a managing computer system, and retrieves a list of authorized commands under the lockdown level from the managing computer system. The managed computer system determines, by querying the managing computer system, whether an authorized change on the managed computer system exists. The managed computer system removes the lockdown level to receive from the managing computer system authorization of commands that have been locked down, in response to determining that the authorized change exists. The managed computer system sets the lockdown level with the authorized commands on the managed computer system, in response to determining that the authorized change does not exist.

  • Publication number: 20160094596
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, are described for negotiating media capabilities between a plurality of end point devices in a media-based conference session. A server computing device receives a request to join a conference session between a plurality of end point devices, the request received from a first device and comprising a media flow. The server computing device identifies at least one of the first device and a network from which the first device sent the request. The server computing device determines whether a media negotiation profile associated with the identified device exists. The server computing device determines whether a media negotiation profile associated with the identified network exists. The server computing device adjusts one or more of a bitrate, a session description, and a destination multipoint control unit, based upon the media negotiation profiles. The server computing device connects the adjusted media flow to the conference session.
