    Abstract: Compounds are prepared which correspond to the formula ##STR1## wherein R represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkoxyalkyl, --CH.sub.2 Ar, Ar';Ar represents ##STR2## each X independently represents halo, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, --OCH.sub.3, --CF.sub.3, --OCF.sub.3, --NO.sub.2, --CN or --CO.sub.2 R.sup.2 ;each n independently represents 0, 1 or 2;Ar' represents ##STR3## R.sup.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkynyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkoxyalkyl, CF.sub.3 or Ar";Ar" represents Ar, ##STR4## R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl. These compounds have been found to be effective pre- and post-emergent herbicides and as active agents in herbicidal compositions.
