  • Patent number: 11516188
Abstract: A secure element device for use in a connected device includes a first interface configured to enable communication with a communication module and a second interface configured to enable communication with an action module of the connected device. A processor coupled to the first interface and the second interface, executes a first set of computer-readable instructions, stored in a memory of the secure element device, to authenticate, via the first interface, the connected device on the communication network. The processor also executes a second set of computer-readable instructions, stored in the memory, to perform one or both of (i) obtaining, via the second interface, data from the action module, the data to be transmitted over the communication network and (ii) controlling, via the second interface, the action module to cause the action module to perform one or more operations based on an instruction received over the communication network.

  • Publication number: 20220377373
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide various examples of monitoring adverse events in the background while displaying a higher-resolution surgical video on a lower-resolution display device. In one aspect, a process for detecting adverse events during a surgical procedure can begin by receiving a surgical video. The process then displays a first portion of the video images of the surgical video on a screen to assist a surgeon performing the surgical procedure. While displaying the first portion of the video images, the process uses a set of deep-learning models to monitor a second portion of the video images not being displayed on the screen, wherein each deep-learning model is constructed to detect a given adverse event among a set of adverse events. In response to detecting an adverse event in the second portion of the video images, the process notifies the surgeon of the detected adverse event to prompt an appropriate action.

  • Patent number: 11496353
Abstract: A method for discovering and diagnosing network anomalies. The method includes receiving key performance indicator (KPI) data and alarm data. The method includes extracting features based on samples obtained by discretizing the KPI data and the alarm data. The method includes generating a set of rules based on the features. The method includes identifying a sample as a normal sample or an anomaly sample. In response to identifying the sample as the anomaly sample, the method includes identifying a first rule that corresponds to the sample, wherein the first rule indicates symptoms and root causes of an anomaly included in the sample. The method further includes applying the root causes to derive a root cause explanation of the anomaly and performing a corrective action to resolve the anomaly based on the first rule.

  • Patent number: 11426056
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide various examples of displaying an endoscope video of an endoscope resolution on a display having a screen resolution lower than the endoscope resolution. In one aspect, a process of displaying the endoscope video on the display can begin by displaying a portion of the endoscope video having the same resolution as the screen resolution on the display. While displaying the portion of the endoscope video, the process detects a surgical tool present in an off-screen portion of the endoscope video not visible on the display, and therefore not visible to the user. The process further analyzes the off-screen portion of the endoscope video including the detected surgical tool. The process subsequently generates an alert when a risk of the detected surgical tool is identified.

  • Patent number: 11422769
Abstract: This is directed to controlling the output of audio based on the mode of an electronic device. In particular, this is directed to an electronic device having a sound mode, silent mode, and mute mode controlling the output of audio along different audio output routes. In the sound mode, all audio can be output, while only registered or authorized audio can be output in the silent mode. In the mute mode, no audio can be output. The sound and silent modes can be enabled using an interface of the device (e.g., a switch having two possible states), while the mute mode can be enabled using an accessory coupled to the device. To disengage the mute mode, a user can provide a corresponding instruction using the accessory, or providing an instruction on the device related to volume control. For example, a user can change the device volume using an on-device interface, or toggle a sound/silent switch to a sound mode.

  • Patent number: 11409816
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining an action to be executed in response to a user query as a function of pre-query context information. One system includes an electronic computing device that includes a microphone, a transceiver, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to receive audio data from the microphone prior to receiving a user query, and determine, at predetermined time intervals, context information from the audio data. The electronic processor is further configured to store the context information in a memory. The electronic processor is further configured to receive second audio data from the microphone, and determine that the second audio data corresponds to the user query. The electronic processor is further configured to determine an action to be executed as a function of the second audio data and the context information, and execute the action in response to the user query.

  • Publication number: 20220247363
Abstract: A sound system includes a sound source having an analogue audio signal output and a sound volume control; signal amplifier apparatus (10) comprising an analogue signal input (12) configured to be coupled to the analogue audio signal output of the sound source, an analogue signal output (18) and an amplifier module (62) coupled between the signal input and the signal output. The amplifier module (62) has a fixed amplification gain within a range of 10 to 12 decibels. Control of the audio signal is effected solely by the sound volume control of the sound source. The amplifier module (64) also provides a fixed gain bass boost of 6 decibels. The system provides linear amplification and allows a user to reduce the volume of the sound source, which significantly reduces signal distortion. Volume control is at the sound source and not at the amplifier module, which optimises amplification quality and reduces the power requirement of the amplifier apparatus (10).

  • Patent number: 11358016
Abstract: The sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve is configured for use in a fire sprinkler system and a water source. The heat generated by a fire automatically actuates the sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve. The sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve further comprises a manually operated valve. The manually operated valve closes the sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve in cases inappropriate actuation. The sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve comprises a deflector, a heat sensitive release mechanism, a wedge seal, a valve block, and a threaded connection. The threaded connection attaches the sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve to the water source. The heat sensitive release mechanism and the wedge seal actuate the valve. The deflector directs the water released by the sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve. The valve block forms the manually operated valve of the sprinkler head with integrated shut-off valve.

  • Patent number: 11326897
Abstract: A cellular telephony device operatives to receive map data via a cellular network map data, and causes a region of a map having one or more selectable map elements to be displayed in a display in accordance with the map data. The cellular telephony device then causes selectable map element information to be displayed in the display in response to detecting a selection of one of the selectable map elements. In response to detecting a selection of the selectable map element information, the cellular telephony device sends, to a private network file server via the cellular network, a request for an electronic file document associated with the selectable map element information. The cellular telephony device then receives, via the cellular network, the file contents information corresponding to the request for the electronic file document, and causes at least a portion of the electronic file document to be displayed in the display.

  • Publication number: 20220140763
Abstract: A material handler comprises a motor, an interface device, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive an input from the interface device and can include a variable frequency drive (VFD). The controller provides a variable frequency drive (VFD) signal to the motor to control movement of one or more components of the material handler. If the interface device is inactive for a predetermined amount of time, the controller adjusts a frequency of the VFD signal from an operating frequency to a standby frequency with the standby frequency being lower than the operating frequency. Adjusting the frequency from the operating frequency to the standby frequency can include adjusting the frequency of the VFD signal to one or more intermediate frequencies. When adjusting the frequency of the VFD signal, the controller can skip at least one frequency or range of frequencies, for example, to avoid undesirable operating characteristics.
