  • Patent number: 11281449
Abstract: Various arrangements for updating a device utilizing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are presented. A backend system may detect a triggering event associated with a device based upon data received via a first connection. In response to detecting the first triggering event, the UAV may receive a first data set and a location associated with the device from the backend system. The UAV may deploy to the received location. A second connection between the UAV and the device can be established at the received location. The UAV may transmit the first data set to the device via the second connection at the received location.

  • Publication number: 20190037669
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatus, and machine-readable media are provided to facilitate lighting device health management. Conditions of at least a portion of an electric light assembly may be monitored with a monitor adapted to be disposed in the electric light assembly. The electric light assembly may include an electric light source and a receptacle adapted to receive the electric light source. Based on the monitoring, data recordings corresponding to operations of the electric light assembly over a period of time may be stored. Reporting data may be created based on the stored data recordings. A communication may be wirelessly transmitted with the monitor toward a system controller that is remote from the electric light assembly. The communication may include the reporting data. • Publication number: 20170135777
Abstract: A surgical isolation drape comprises a medical-grade flexible container body including an inside surface, a first end that is normally open, thus defining a first mouth, and a second end opposite the first end that is normally open, thus defining a second mouth. The surgical isolation drape also includes a first closure mechanism to close the first mouth. For instance, the first closure mechanism can include a first channel inside of the container body proximate the first mouth. A first closure line passes through the first channel, such that access to the first closure line is provided from a position inside the container body. The surgical isolation drape still further includes a first locking mechanism that engages the first closure line, such that access to the first locking mechanism is provided from a position inside the body.

  • Publication number: 20160078428
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating use of a digital electronic wallet by a cardholder for cashless transactions. The method comprises receiving a selection by a first cardholder to pair a first digital wallet held by a first wallet holder with a first merchant, the first digital wallet having therein an electronic representation of at least one payment device usable to fund a cashless transaction, and verifying the cardholder's identity. Thereafter, facilitating a communication between the first cardholder and the first wallet holder to record consent by the first cardholder to share wallet information with the first merchant. The present disclosure further comprises receiving from the first wallet holder authorization to generate a wallet token usable for acquiring wallet information on behalf of the first merchant, using the first digital wallet as selected by the first cardholder, and preparing a merchant token corresponding to the wallet token.

  • Patent number: 8408232
Abstract: A sequence valve for a hydraulic circuit provides a control signal through a control signal port to a pressure responsive flow source to maintain pressure in an accumulator between a low pressure setting and a high pressure setting. The valve includes accumulator, flow source and drain ports, in addition to the control signal port. A spool controls communication between the control signal port and the drain port. A piston is moved by pressure in the accumulator port against a control spring to close communication between the control signal port and the flow source port, and to move the valve spool to close communication between control signal port and the drain port. A differential between the net cross sectional area of the spool establishes the differential between the high and low pressure settings of the accumulator.

  • Patent number: 8364375
Abstract: A system of monitoring the performance characteristics of a turbocharged engine and forecasting a performance parameter based on measured data include sensor components for measuring various performance parameters such as pressures and temperatures. The measured data may be received by electronic components that forward the data through networking components to computing components. The data may be stored in a database. Methods for forecasting turbocharger performance and indicating turbocharger malfunctions include retrieving measured data, performing calculations to correct at least a portion of the measured data, retrieving input from a user, performing regression analysis to determine a forecasting model used to forecast future values, and determining a time when the future values reach a user-specified level.

  • Publication number: 20110067767
Abstract: Sequence valves 10 (FIGS. 1-7) and 210 (FIG. 8) are disclosed for use in a hydraulic circuit (FIG. 2). Sequence valve 10 provides a control signal through a control signal port 20, 60 to a pressure responsive flow source 122 to maintain pressure in an accumulator 124 between a low pressure setting (point b in FIG. 7) and a high pressure setting (point c in FIG. 7). When the pressure in the accumulator 124 falls from its high pressure setting to its low pressure setting, the control signal from control signal port 20 of the sequence valve 10 increases (from point f to point g in FIG. 7). When this occurs, the flow source 122 is loaded and operates to provide fluid flow to charge the accumulator 124. When the pressure in the accumulator 124 reaches its high pressure setting, the control signal from the control signal port 20 falls to a low level (point i in FIG. 7) and remains at that low level until the accumulator 124 again needs to be charged.

  • Patent number: 7765361
Abstract: To ensure that logs representative of data changes are durably written, localized storage media cache is flushed to force a write to stable storage. Log sequence number tracking is leveraged to determine if log data in a localized storage media cache is likely to have not been written to durable storage. When this condition is likely, a FLUSH_CACHE command is issued to a storage media controller to force a durable write. This allows recovery of data changes to a transactional system even when its associated storage media does not provide write-ordering guarantees. Moreover, flushing of the storage media cache can be accomplished at a frequency that provides an upper bound on a maximum time between a transaction commit and data being made durable.

  • Patent number: 6909591
Abstract: An improved semiconductor capacitor and a method for fabricating the capacitor. The capacitor is located on a substrate having a first conductive section with a first outer plate connected to a first inner plate. A second conductive section having a second outer plate connected to a second inner plate is present in the capacitor. The second inner plate is located within a first hole in the first outer plate and the first inner plate is located within a second hole in the second outer plate such that a first distance is present between the second inner plate and the first outer plate and a second distance is present between the first inner plate and the second outer plate. Multiple layers of sections like the first conductive section and the second conductive section are stacked over each other and are connected to each other as part of the capacitor. Via connections may be used to connect the layers.

  • Patent number: 5755506
Abstract: A badge or sign including a plate formed of light-transmissive material with a front side for bearing indicia. A light source is positioned within the plate to illuminate it from within. A pin is secured to the plate for attaching the plate to an article of apparel. Adjacent the pin, a clip is secured to the plate for carrying a battery capable of powering the light source. The clip has an integral hook for holding the free end of the pin. The pin and the hook are electrically connected with the battery and the light source so that the engagement of the pin with the hook to secure the badge to an article of apparel acts to permit the flow of an electrical current from the battery to the light source and to illuminate the light source. Disengagement of the pin and hook electrically disconnects the battery from the light source.

  • Patent number: 5619751
Abstract: A marine vest 10 designed to be worn by an operator of a personal watercraft while wearing a life jacket. The vest 10 includes a back section comprising a pair of shoulder straps positioned to fit over the shoulders of the operator. The straps are attached to a waist section which wraps around the operator's waist. This waist section has free ends which terminate near the middle of the front upper torso of the operator. Each free end has attached to it one component of a two-component buckle, so that the operator can manually buckle and unbuckle the two-component buckle while the vest is being worn. A pair of handles are attached to the waist section, each handle at one side of the operator. A second rider immediately seated behind the operator can thus grasp firmly these handles and more securely maintain his or her seated position on the watercraft. The vest 10 being sized to fit over the life jacket and is made of buoyant materials so that it will float in water.
