  • Publication number: 20130266437
Abstract: A compressor guide-vane stage for a turbine engine, the stage comprising two coaxial shrouds, respectively an inner shroud (120) and an outer shroud, with vanes (124) extending between them, the radially inner ends of the vanes being engaged with clearance (125) in orifices in the inner shroud and being secured to the inner shroud by means of a polymerizable sealing resin (126), the guide-vane stage being characterized in that a gasket (140) is mounted on the radially inner end of each vane, the gasket including a slit through which the vane passes and bearing against the radially inside surface of the shroud or in the proximity of said surface, in order to limit the passage of resin through the above-mentioned clearance while the resin is being applied to the inside surface of the shroud.

  • Patent number: 8376382
Abstract: A suspension linkage that produces a rearward arcing wheel path, comprising of either single or paired pivotally connected members. Cross linked trailing arm members attach pivotally to the frame and a rearmost vertical contact mounting point member with the mounting point for the rear wheel axle, ski or skid protruding below the cross linked trailing arms. This offers benefit for vehicle navigating rough terrain at high speed. The present invention provides a suspension linkage that produces a more rearward arcing wheel path than could be produced by a single pivot placed within the same physical bounds as the pivot points of the invention and introduces desirable ride effects related to accelerating and braking.

  • Patent number: 8282110
Abstract: A cargo container system is provided having selectively deployable support and wheel assemblies. The support and wheel assemblies are capable of being stowed within a recess formed in the underside of the cargo container system during storage or shipment of the cargo container system (e.g., by ship, rail, and/or the like). At an appropriate time (e.g., the cargo container system is about to placed onto the ground by a crane), the support and wheel assemblies are then selectively deployed downwardly and/or outwardly from the recess of the underside of the cargo container system to provide a fully functional cargo container system/trailer combination that is immediately capable of being engaged to a truck/tractor and driven away. The deployment system can include a screw system that, when rotated in a first direction is operable to raise the support and wheel assemblies and then, when rotated in a second direction is capable of lowering the support and wheel assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20120242060
Abstract: A cargo container system is provided having selectively deployable and retractable support and/or wheel assemblies. The wheel assemblies are capable of being retracted upwardly while the landing assembly is capable of being deployed downwardly and/or retracted upwardly, e.g., during storage or shipment of the cargo container system (e.g., during sea travel or rail travel). At an appropriate time (e.g., the cargo container system is about to placed onto the ground or other surface by a crane or other suitable device), the wheel assemblies are then selectively deployed downwardly while the landing gear assembly is capable of being retracted upwardly and/or deployed downwardly, e.g., to provide a fully functional cargo container system/trailer/chassis combination that may be immediately capable of being engaged to a truck/tractor/chassis and driven away.

  • Publication number: 20120121270
Abstract: A multi-port accumulator apparatus for a radio-over-fiber (RoF) wireless picocellular system comprising a housing supporting a tail cable port and transponder ports. The tail cable port is optically coupled to the RoF transponder ports to provide for transmission of uplink and downlink optical signals between the tail cable port and each of the transponder ports. The tail cable port is also electrically coupled to provide power to each transponder port. The multi-port accumulator supports RoF transponders, one at each of the transponder ports. Each RoF transponder includes a directional antenna system forming a picocellular coverage sub-area, with the combined sub-areas constituting a picocellular coverage area for the multi-port accumulator. The multi-port accumulator permits quick installation and deployment of large numbers of RoF transponders without individually connecting each RoF transponder to downlink and uplink optical fibers in an optical fiber RF communication link.
