Publication number: 20240132942Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for normalizing polynucleotide concentration. Normalizing may be accomplished using polynucleotide binding proteins (e.g., catalytically inactive CRISPR protein or catalytically inactive Argonaute proteins). The polynucleotide binding proteins may bind to the adapter sequences of a target polynucleotide. Thus, adding the same amount of a polynucleotide binding proteins to different samples and then extracting the polynucleotide protein is shown herein to extract similar amounts of target polynucleotides from the different samples.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicant: Watchmaker Genomics, Inc.Inventors: Martin Ranik, Eric van der Walt, Clara Ross, Craig Marshall, Lindsay Peterkin, Brian Kudlow

Patent number: 10963642Abstract: Representative embodiments disclose intelligent help systems that monitor user interactions through email, digital assistants, and other applications and recognize when a user can utilize the help of an expert with a task. The system detects user intent and a category of problem from the interactions (i.e., email communications, etc.) and searches a database of user profiles to find experts with the proper expertise to help the user with the category of problem. User intent can be detected by parsing communications, extracting features from the communications, and using the extracted features to identify intent, such as through matching or machine learning. A social score and an expertise score are calculated for expert profiles from the database. The social score is based on a degree of separation and expert and the expertise score is based on a level of expertise. Experts and areas of commonality are presented to the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2016Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Malia Douglas, Eric Ross Freistadt, Joan Li, Karl Rolando Henderson, Jr., Sidharth Sehgal, Mark Rubinstein

Patent number: 9089432Abstract: The invention discloses a surgical technique and apparatus for minimally invasive replacement of a fractured femoral head in hip arthroscopy. The fractured femoral head is first removed from the patient, and an incision made on the patient on a lateral aspect of the operative thigh. A hole is then drilled into the cortex of the operative femur of the patient through the incision. The femoral neck and femoral canal of the operative femur are reamed by inserting a reamer through the drilled hole. A hip prosthesis is then inserted into the wound and injected with molding. The hip prosthesis includes a femoral component having a distal end and a proximal end, the distal end inserted and anchored in the reamed femoral canal, and a femoral head component with smooth surface. The femoral head component contains a deflated balloon that, when inflated with molding, is similar to a neo-femoral head.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2014Date of Patent: July 28, 2015Assignee: University of South FloridaInventor: Eric Ross Henderson
