  • Publication number: 20120180772
Abstract: An assembly for selectively exposing a firing chamber to a motive gas is provided by using a solenoid valve to expose selected portions of a tubular sliding valve to a lower pressure control gas. The tubular sliding valve includes a through passage for transfer of the projectile from a breech to the firing chamber. An on board controller can dictate actuation of the solenoid valve in accordance with a remaining pressure of the motive gas and user input.

  • Patent number: 6526632
Abstract: A fastener for plastic bags opened and closed by a slider includes first and second track members with each having one of a pair of interlocking profiles. The fastener has opposite ends with terminations. A slider is mounted on the fastener and has a separation member with a wide portion and a narrow portion positioned in the fastener. The slider, upon complete closure of the fastener, rides up onto a termination moving the wide portion of the separation member out from between the fastener allowing the profiles to lock along the entire length of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 6292986
Abstract: An assembly of sliders for zippers for plastic bags and the like and the accumulation of the sliders for use in form, fill and seal machines is disclosed. The sliders are oriented and mechanically or adhesively joined into chains. Mechanical assembly of sliders may be accomplished by snapping sliders together or slideably mounting sliders on a strip. Sliders may be adhesively assembled together by taping, welding, gluing, or melting the sliders. Sliders and chains of sliders are accumulated in cartridges, carriers, coreless rolls, spools or trays which are then connected to form, fill and seal machines for attachment of the sliders to a zipper and attachment of the zipper with a slider to bags.

  • Patent number: 5964532
Abstract: A reclosable package comprises opposing wall panels and a reclosable seal. The opposing wall panels are joined on three sides such as to create a receptacle space having a mouth at one end. The reclosable seal extends along the one end and including a first track and a second track. The first track includes a first reclosable element and a first fin portion extending downward from the first reclosable element toward the receptacle space. The first track is joined to one of the wall panels. The second track includes a second reclosable element and a second fin portion extending downward from the second reclosable element toward the receptacle space. The second track is joined to the other of the wall panels. The first and second reclosable elements are releasably engageable to each other. In one embodiment, the first and second fin portions are joined to each other along a one-time breakable preferential area of weakness to prevent tampering with the package prior to being opened.

  • Patent number: 5867875
Abstract: A foldable plastic slider for straddling relation with a profiled plastic zipper. The straddling slider for closing or opening the zipper by movement therealong, comprising: a transverse support member including opposing sides, a pair of legs depending from the opposing sides of the support member, and a pair of wings hingedly attached to the opposing sides. Each wing has an opening for receiving its respective leg, and each wing has a cored out cross piece. The cored out cross piece has a solid ramp latch. The wings are folded relative to the support member and the latches engage the legs to assemble the slider on the zipper in a closed sidewall position.

  • Patent number: 5775812
Abstract: A tamper-evident reclosable plastic bag comprises first and second opposing panels, a zipper, a slider, and an end termination. The first and second opposing panels are fixedly connected to each other along a pair of sides and a bottom bridging the pair of sides. The zipper extends along a mouth formed opposite the bottom. The zipper includes a first track with a first profile and a second track with a second profile. The first and second profiles are releasably engageable to each other. The slider is slidably mounted to the zipper for movement between a closed position and an open position. The first and second profiles are engaged to each other while the slider is in the closed position. The first and second profiles are disengaged from each other in response to movement of the slider from the closed position to the open position. The end termination is near one end of the zipper adjacent to one of the pair of sides.

  • Patent number: 5161286
Abstract: A thermoplastic bag having a zipper that is operated by a slider is provided with end termination clips that firmly holds the two zipper elements together to resist stresses applied by normal use and also stops the slider from going off past the end of the zipper. The end termination clip is formed by clamps consisting of plastic members between which are sandwiched the zipper and fin and wherein the clamping members are held together by a plastic rivet through the film. In one embodiment the end termination clips include hook structure for engaging a detent in the slider which provides the bag user with the feel of a definite parking position for the slider when the bag is closed.
