Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a rotor during a balancing process, said rotor including a rotor body and first and second rotor shaft members positioned at either side of the rotor body, the apparatus including: one or more support devices for supporting the rotor and/or one or both shaft members thereof; a first holding device including a first abutment member for engaging, in use, with a first axial end face of the rotor body, a second holding device including a second abutment member for engaging, in use, with a second axial end face of the rotor body, wherein the first and second abutment members each include an abutment surface which in use engages the respective axial end face of the rotor body, and wherein an angle of the abutment surface relative to the rotor axis is moveable.
