Patent number: 11969666Abstract: Locomotion-based motion sickness has long been a complaint amongst virtual reality gamers and drone pilots. Traditional head-mounted display experiences require a handheld controller (e.g. thumbstick, touchpad, gamepad, keyboard, etc.) for locomotion. Teleportation compromises immersive presence and smooth navigation leads to sensory imbalances that can cause dizziness and nausea (even when using room-scale sensor systems). Designers have therefore had to choose between comfort and immersion. The invention is a hands-free, body-based navigation technology that puts the participant's body in direct control of movement through virtual space. Participants lean forward to advance in space; lean back to reverse; tip left or right to strafe/sidestep; and rotate to look around. In some embodiments, the more a participant leans, the faster they go.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2022Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: MONKEYmedia, Inc.Inventors: Eric Justin Gould Bear, Rachel M. Strickland, Jim McKee

Patent number: 11973032Abstract: Memory bit cells having internal node jumpers are described. In an example, an integrated circuit structure includes a memory bit cell on a substrate. The memory bit cell includes first and second gate lines parallel along a second direction of the substrate. The first and second gate lines have a first pitch along a first direction of the substrate, the first direction perpendicular to the second direction. First, second and third interconnect lines are over the first and second gate lines. The first, second and third interconnect lines are parallel along the second direction of the substrate. The first, second and third interconnect lines have a second pitch along the first direction, where the second pitch is less than the first pitch. One of the first, second and third interconnect lines is an internal node jumper for the memory bit cell.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Smita Shridharan, Zheng Guo, Eric A. Patent number: 11969649Abstract: Prominent display of a targeted game in search results from a search within an online gaming platform. In some implementations, a server receives a search query from a device. The search query is executed against a data store of available games to obtain search results indicating a set of games. Based on one or more characteristics of the set of games, it is determined whether the search query is directed to a narrow search for a particular game in the set of games. In response to determining such a narrow search, the particular game is designated with a highlight indication, and the search results and highlight indication are transmitted to the device, causing display of a user interface that includes at least a portion of the search results. The highlight indication causes the device to display an identifier of the particular game as highlighted relative to other search results.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2022Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Roblox CorporationInventors: Aswath Manoharan, Eric Holmdahl, Jianan Duan, Nikolaus Sonntag, I-Wu Lu
