The brace is used to stabilize a patient's jaw when the patient's jaw is supported by the at least one chin rest.

The processor is configured to calculate how much of the food item has been consumed based on the measured weight, and to calculate, via a second interface in communication with a server, how many calories of the food item have been consumed based on the measured weight and the identification of the item and cause display of how many calories of the food item have been consumed to a first user.

The shape memory material is formulated and configured to transform from a first phase and a first shape upon heating and to transform from a second phase and a second shape upon cooling.

Abstract: A platform bed frame particularly adapted for hotel use is provided including a pair of slat supporting rails that have a plurality of cavities along the length of the slat supporting rails. A plurality of slats form a mattress supporting surface and span between the slat supporting rails and have end lower conforming surfaces that fit into the cavities to secure the slats to the slat supporting rails. There are side rails and end rails that snap onto the slat supporting rails so that the assembly of the platform bed frame can be accomplished without the use of tools. There are two component legs that also allow an adjustment of the height of the platform supporting platform between a high and a low position. In the low position a foundation may be included underlying the mattress and a lesser number of slats can be used.

Abstract: A coherent receiver adapted to operate as an Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA) includes an optical front end adapted to receive an optical signal and to mix the optical signal with a local laser; a photodetector block coupled to the optical front end and adapted to receive an output of the optical front end and provide an output corresponding to spectral components of the optical signal; and a controller coupled to the optical front end and the photodetector block, wherein the controller is adapted to operate in an OSA mode to sweep the local laser across a portion of optical spectrum to perform an OSA measurement while not performing data demodulation.

Abstract: A hysteretic current mode buck-boost voltage regulator including a buck-boost voltage converter, a switching controller, a window circuit, a ramp circuit, and a timing circuit. The timing circuit may be additional ramp circuits. The voltage converter is toggled between first and second switching states during a boost mode, is toggled between third and fourth switching states during a buck mode, and is sequentially cycled through each switching state during a buck-boost mode. The ramp circuit develops a ramp voltage that simulates current through the voltage converter, and switching is determined using the ramp voltage compared with window voltages provided by the window circuit. The window voltages establish frequency, and may be adjusted based on the input and output voltages. The timing circuit provides timing indications during the buck-boost mode to ensure that the second and fourth switching states have approximately the same duration to provide symmetry of the ramp signal.

Abstract: Provided herein is a method for preparing a battery electrode based on an aqueous slurry. The method disclosed herein has the advantage that an aqueous solvent can be used in the manufacturing process, which can save process time and facilities by avoiding the need to handle or recycle hazardous organic solvents. Therefore, costs are reduced by simplifying the total process. In addition, the batteries having the electrodes prepared by the method disclosed herein show impressive energy retention.
