  • Patent number: 9388716
Abstract: A system, for use in accounting for an effect of a long-trip cycle on remaining life of engine oil, being used in a vehicle, using a long-trip rebate value. The system includes a computer processor and a non-transitory computer-readable medium that is in operative communication with the processor and has instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform various operations. The operations include determining a long-trip time indicating an amount of time that the vehicle was operated recently in the long-trip cycle. The operations further include determining the long-trip rebate according to a rebate function using the determined long-trip time.

  • Patent number: 9392078
Abstract: A virtual machine project manager creates a generic, i.e., not user-specific, virtual machine image file. Copies of this image file may be distributed to one or more users, each of whom may then use an automated procedure to generate a user-specific virtual machine image file and, thus, a user-specific virtual machine on his/her remote host computer. The generic virtual machine image file may be distributed on computer-readable media, such as a DVD disks, or the file may be stored on a server and downloaded (such as via the Internet) by the users. Each user also receives or downloads a token, which contains a small amount of user-specific information that is used by the automated procedure to provision the generic virtual machine image file for the particular user. A virtual machine accesses a security token connected to a host computer to automatically authenticate or re-authenticate a user, such as when a virtual private network connection is restarted.

  • Patent number: 9387306
Abstract: An intravenous catheter securement device comprises of an intravenous catheter board stabilizer that conforms to patients' bodies and an adjustable elastic sleeve with a hole for catheter insertion, with two overlying flaps for catheter securement. The intravenous catheter board base has holes on either side, one side for connection of the elastic sleeve, and the other side provides a fastening location for elastic bands attached to the sleeve for tightness adjustment. An embodiment of the invention involving the intravenous board is displayed separately as an alternative innovation. This device is comprised of a simple form fitting elastic sleeve having a catheter opening with the intent of applying a removable adhesive to the sleeve itself over the catheter for securement purposes. These embodiments establish a simple, standardized, and safe method of securing intravenous catheters sans adhesive material in contact with the epidermis.

  • Patent number: 9389993
Abstract: A method is provided in one embodiment and includes receiving a request for a session at a network element; communicating a query for whitelist data to a provisioning element; receiving the whitelist data at the network element; and communicating a message to an access point that communicated the request, where the message is indicative of whether the session is to be accepted or denied based on the whitelist data. In more specific implementations, the network element is a gateway configured to receive the whitelist data via a RADIUS access accept message. In addition, source Internet protocol (IP) address verification associated with the session can be executed before a wireless device associated with the access point is permitted access to a network.

  • Patent number: 9389131
Abstract: A device, assembly and method for clamping single fibers that utilizes snubbing surfaces simultaneously with magnetic gripping action are described. The device can be fabricated at miniature sizes with very low mass and volume, which are desirable requirements for testing of small fibers in highly sensitive force-transducing load frames. Advantageously, the combined use of snubbing surfaces and magnetic gripping greatly reduces the probability of slippage or fiber failure at the grip during testing.

  • Patent number: 9387104
Abstract: A loading basket is secured at its proximal end to a portion of a delivery device. The stent engages with the interior of the stent basket when loaded onto the delivery device to prevent shifting or movement of the stent during delivery of the stent to a desired location within the bodily lumen. In at least one embodiment, the loading basket has a proximal end, a distal end, and a braided surface. The loading basket comprises a proximal end portion, a proximal transition portion, a body portion, a distal transition portion, a distal end portion, and an angled inward distal end. When loaded onto the delivery device, the outer surface of the stent contacts at least the angled inward distal end of the delivery device and movement of the stent is prevented.
