Abstract: A method and apparatus for blocking messages containing pre-selected data is described. In one embodiment, the method includes determining that a message transmitted to a recipient via a network includes pre-selected data. The pre-selected data contains information from at least one random row within the tabular structure of source data. The method further includes preventing an unauthorized transmission of the pre-selected data to the recipient.

Abstract: A method for powering a magnetic coupler, in which: a) each winding of a first magnetic elementary cell is powered such as to produce a magnetizing flux in a bar of the first cell which is joined with a second cell, the fundamental component of which has an angular offset xi; and b) powering each winding of the second cell such as to produce a magnetizing flux in the bar of the second cell which is joined with the first cell, the fundamental component of which has an angular offset xj. The absolute value of the difference between the angular offsets xi and xj is greater than or equal to (I) rad.

Abstract: Disclosed is an improved method and system for implementing parallelism for execution of electronic design automation (EDA) tools, such as layout processing tools. Examples of EDA layout processing tools are placement and routing tools. Efficient locking mechanism are described for facilitating parallel processing and to minimize blocking.

Abstract: An all rubber golf ball with one or more thermosetting rubber core layers and one or more thermosetting rubber cover layer. At least one of the ball's layers has moisture vapor barrier property, and in one aspect the moisture vapor barrier layer is an intermediate layer. In one embodiment, the thermosetting rubber layers follow a cis- or a trans-polybutadiene gradient from the center of the ball to its cover.

Abstract: A system for producing mechanical energy. In some embodiments, the system includes a first source providing a first fluid, a fluid pressurization device, a second source supplying a second fluid, a first motor, and a second motor. The fluid pressurization device draws in the first fluid from the first source and increases the pressure of the first fluid. The first motor is driven by the second fluid, the second fluid decreasing in pressure and the first motor powering the fluid pressurization device as the second fluid passes through the first motor. The second motor receives a mixture of the first fluid from the first motor and the second fluid from the fluid pressurization device, whereby the second motor produces the mechanical energy.

Abstract: An atrial fibrillation (AF) monitor extracts two P wave features and an R-R interval feature from a sequence of ECG waveforms. The features are used by a classifier to classify a heart rhythm as AF or non-AF. The AF classification results may be further processed to reduce false alarm reporting. The AF classification results are used by an AF burden calculator to report AF burden in real time.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for improving error discrimination in biometric authentication systems. The error discrimination is set to a predetermined security policy. A plurality of biometric samples are provided and authenticated by a computer system in conjunction with a security token. An alternate embodiment allows inputting of the plurality of biometric samples in a predetermined sequence. The predetermined input sequence is maintained as an authentication secret which may be used to further reduce the authentication transaction error rate.

Abstract: A system includes logic to store multiple descriptors, each of the multiple descriptors to be associated with a different set of multiple Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) packets received by the network controller, each of the multiple descriptors including a count of the number of packets in the set of multiple packets associated with a respective descriptor. For each of the respective receive packets, the system determines a one of the multiple descriptors based on the network source address, network destination address, source port, and destination port of the respective packet; includes the respective packet in the set of multiple packets associated with the determine one of the multiple descriptors; and updates the one of the multiple descriptors by incrementing the count of the number of packets in the set of multiple packets; and provides data from within the packets to the host.

Abstract: A method and system for beamforming signal transmission under a per-antenna power constraint is presented. In one aspect, a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmitting station may compute a per-antenna power gain factor for each of a plurality of transmit chain signals. The transmit chain signals may be concurrently transmitted by a plurality of transmitting antennas at the MIMO transmitting station. The plurality of transmit chain signals may correspond to beamforming signals, which are generated by performing spatial mapping on a plurality of space-time signals. The plurality of power gain factors may be computed based on a per-antenna power constraint. Alternatively, the plurality of power gain factors may be computed based on joint per-antenna power and total-power constraints. Each of the transmit chain signals may be amplified or attenuated based on the corresponding antenna gain factor. The amplified or attenuated signal is then transmitted by the corresponding transmitting antenna.

Abstract: An exemplary method for operating a hybrid vehicle in the event that there is a problem with an auxiliary power source, such as an internal combustion engine or a fuel cell. According to one embodiment, the method provides a power management scheme for a variety of situations where an auxiliary power source experiences a problem; this may include situations where an internal combustion engine runs out of fuel, where there is a mechanical or electrical malfunction, or any other instance where the auxiliary power source is unable to generate and/or provide electrical energy for the hybrid vehicle. The power management scheme conserves the vehicle's primary power source, which is typically a battery, in order to provide the hybrid vehicle with an extended driving range.

The geo-textile material is porous to both air and water, which allows air-born nutrients to pass to the roots and inhibit the ability of mold species to grow and harm the plant. The geo-textile material is configurable to various container designs that permit the non-conventional plant placement including the mounting of the plant containers on vertical surfaces, flat surfaces, and by suspension from ceilings and walls. The inclusion of a flexible, durable, impermeable, water-retaining, recycled rubber, vinyl, or plastic bottom and/or backing liner in the construction of the plant containers/hangers allow the planters to be placed on indoor and outdoor surfaces such as wood, stucco, sheetrock, carpet, and various other surfaces which might otherwise be damaged by moisture.
