  • Publication number: 20090297488
Abstract: Cells present in adipose tissue are used to treat patients, including patients with PVD and related diseases or disorders. Methods of treating patients include processing adipose tissue to deliver a concentrated amount of stem cells obtained from the adipose tissue to a patient. The methods may be practiced in a closed system so that the stem cells are not exposed to an external environment prior to being administered to a patient. Accordingly, in a preferred method, cells present in adipose tissue are placed directly into a recipient along with such additives necessary to promote, engender or support a therapeutic benefit.

  • Publication number: 20090296073
Abstract: A disclosed method produces an image of one or more fabricated features by iteratively producing a cross-section of the features. The method includes milling a surface proximate to the one or more fabricated features where the surface being milled is substantially parallel to a layer in which the feature is located. At each milling step, top-down imaging of the one or more fabricated features produces a plurality of cross-sectional images. Each of the plurality of cross-sectional images is reconstructed into a representation of the fabricated feature.

  • Publication number: 20090294748
Abstract: A memory cell is fabricated by forming a dielectric layer and patterning a hole in the dielectric layer. Patterning the hole is accomplished at least in part by contacting the dielectric layer with a catalytic material in the presence of a reactant under conditions effective to remove those areas of the dielectric layer in contact with the catalytic material. A phase change feature is then formed in contact with the dielectric layer such that a portion of the phase change feature at least partially fills the hole in the dielectric layer. At least a portion of the patterned dielectric layer remains in the ultimate memory cell.

  • Publication number: 20090296552
Abstract: A media player may occasionally be unable to play or continue to play a particular item of media. When that occurs, the media player outputs an error indication that is related to the type of media that the problem media item is representative of. For example, if the problem item is a movie, then the media player may display an error indication having the appearance of broken movie film. If the problem media item is music, then the media player may display an error indication having the appearance of a broken compact disc (“CD”). Thus whatever the type of media that is not playing, the media player outputs an error indication that is appropriate for that type of media. The error indications output by the player are therefore context-based or media-appropriate.

  • Publication number: 20090300752
Abstract: The disclosure herein provides data security on a parallel computer system using virtual private networks connecting the nodes of the system. A mechanism sets up access control data in the nodes that describes a number of security classes. Each security class is associated with a virtual network. Each user on the system is associated with one of the security classes. Each database object to be protected is given an attribute of a security class. Database objects are loaded into the system nodes that match the security class of the database object. When a query executes on the system, the query is sent to a particular class or set of classes such that the query is only seen by those nodes that are authorized by the equivalent security class. In this way, the network is used to isolate data from users that do not have proper authorization to access the data.

  • Publication number: 20090295091
Abstract: A method of playing a casino table game is disclosed. Players and a Dealer each receive five cards each to make a best five-card poker hand. Players must make an Ante wager and may optionally make a bonus wager. After considering the cards, the player must make a Play wager equal to 2× the Ante wager to stay in the game or fold. When the player hand beats the dealer hand, the Play bet wins 1:1. But in order to win the Ante wager, the player hand must qualify with a minimum hand ranking and beat the dealer. When the player hand beats the dealer hand but does not qualify, the Ante wager pushes. When the dealer hand beats the player hand, the Ante and Play wagers are lost. The Bonus wager is resolved according to a pay table including a plurality of predetermined winning hands and corresponding payout odds.

  • Publication number: 20090295595
Abstract: The invention describes a method for control of a device (D1, D2, D3), which method comprises the process steps of aiming a pointing device (1) comprising a camera (2) at an object associated with the device (D1, D2, D3) to be controlled to choose an option and generating an image (3) of a target area (A) aimed at by the pointing device (1). The target area image (3) is interpreted to determine the chosen option, and a corresponding control signal (17) is generated for controlling the device (D1, D2, D3) to be controlled. Device descriptive information (ID1, ID2, ID3) associated with the device (D1, D2, D3) to be controlled is thereby detected before or during this process, and the process steps are carried out according to the device descriptive information (ID1, ID2, ID3). The invention also describes a system (15) suitable for applying this method as well as a pointing device (1) and a device control interface (8, 8?) for such a system (15).

  • Publication number: 20090297221
Abstract: According to aspects of the embodiments, there is provided methods of optimizing contact forces between transfer and photoreceptor belts in image forming devices. The method acquires initial and operational set point data for the photoreceptor and transfer belt at different stages of engagement. Yaw motion is applied to reduce any misalignment between the belts based on the acquired data. A processor is used to determine misalignment between the photoreceptor belt and the transfer belt, and an actuator can be used to apply yaw motion. The yaw motion can return the transfer belt and the photoreceptor belt to their initial set position, or return a steering subsystem actuator to its setting prior to engagement of the belts. Set point data can be from the respective transfer steering subsystem for the photoreceptor and the transfer belts.

  • Publication number: 20090299829
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of recording employment history of a job seeker includes receiving at least one employment experience selection from a job seeker. A plurality of skills related to the at least one employment experience selection are presented to the job seeker over a network. The job seeker is asked to provide a time period corresponding to an amount of time that the job seeker has used a selected skill. The job seeker is also asked to select one of a plurality of predefined competency ratings for the selected skill. A time period and competency rating for the selected skill is received. A freeform text entry field is provided for the job seeker to provide information about how the job seeker has performed a selected task. A description of how the job seeker has performed the selected task is received over the network from the freeform text entry field.

  • Publication number: 20090299984
Abstract: The present invention generally provides methods, articles of manufacture and systems for exposing, on a client device, fields of a data model representing an underlying database for use in building queries against the database. For some embodiments, the client device may be a device having limited resources, such as a handheld computing device. Therefore, rather than load and expose the entire data model on the client at once, a limited portion of the data model may be exposed on a client in a “just in time” (JIT) basis. The limited portion may be determined, for example, based on input received from a user and system parameters, such as the system memory and network bandwidth available to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20090299543
Abstract: A thermal manager has a digital filter whose input is to receive raw temperature values from a sensor and whose output is to provide processed or filtered temperature values according to a filter function that correlates temperature at the sensor with temperature at another location in the device. The thermal manager has a look-up table that further correlates temperature at the sensor with temperature at said another location. The look-up table contains a list of processed temperature sensor values, and/or a list of temperatures representing the temperature at said another location, and their respective power consumption change commands. The thermal manager accesses the look-up table using selected, filtered temperature values, to identify their respective power consumption change commands. The latter are then evaluated and may be applied, to mitigate a thermal at said another location. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
