  • Publication number: 20060080603
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for utilizing a document object model to manage document parts for use in an electronic document. The document object model enables a user to retrieve, insert, add, and delete document parts to and from an electronic document using a programmable interface from within a word processing application program. A document part programming interface is exposed in the object model and methods associated with the object model are called which return objects enabling the location and management of document parts in a document parts collection.

  • Publication number: 20060075337
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium are provided for creating, inserting, and reusing document parts in an electronic document. According to a system, a word processing application program receives a selection of a document part category. In response to the selection of the document part category, a gallery of document parts is displayed in a user interface. A selection of a document part from the gallery is received and inserted in the electronic document without the need for additional formatting. The gallery of document parts defines a page layout for the electronic document. Document parts may be created within the user interface by modifying pre-built document parts.

  • Publication number: 20060069983
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for utilizing an extensible markup language schema to define document parts for use in an electronic document. The method includes providing a glossary document accessible by one or more word processing application programs. The glossary document includes schema elements for defining one or more document parts for insertion in an electronic document. The method further includes receiving, in a properties element, properties associated with a document part. Each property defines the document part for use in the electronic document. The method further includes receiving, in a content element, content to be included in the document part.

  • Patent number: 6969181
Abstract: A fully recessed unit equipment luminaire for providing emergency lighting to a path of egress. The luminaire has batteries, a battery box, a housing, a charger/emergency switching circuit mounted on a chassis, lamps, reflector assemblies, and a cover. The luminaire may be configured for either wall or ceiling mounting with the use of wall or ceiling mount lenses, respectively. Reflector assemblies supporting the lamps are rotatably engaged by the cover. Each reflector assembly has a substantially semi-frustoconical shape and intersects the lamp's conical shaped beam of light to redirect the beam into a narrow, elongated pattern. The reflector assemblies may have a plurality of planar reflecting surfaces which approximate the semi-frustoconical shape.

  • Publication number: 20050188307
Abstract: An interactive formatting tool enables a user to analyze and modify the formatting properties that have been applied to a text string. A user can invoke the formatting tool by displaying an Interactive Formatting Pane and then selecting a text string for analysis. The Interactive Formatting Pane will display all formatting properties applied to the text selection, including font properties, paragraph properties, and section properties. The Interactive Formatting Pane may also display table format properties, frame format properties, cell format properties and bullets and numbering format properties, if applicable. The user may then select a formatting category (e.g., font size) from the Interactive Formatting Pane and a format modification dialog will be displayed. The format modification dialog enables the user to modify the formatting properties associated with the selected formatting category. The Interactive Formatting Pane also includes a compare selection checkbox.

  • Patent number: 6810103
Abstract: A gantry of a combined tomography scanner including an annular outer support, an annular drum concentrically positioned within the outer support rotatable about a rotation axis of the drum, and an annular disk extending radially inwardly from an inner circumferential surface of the drum. At least one of the disk and the drum include structural members for receiving and supporting tomography scanning components on opposing first and second sides of the disk. Among other features and benefits, the gantry can be used for a combined tomography scanner system, e.g., combining an x-ray CT scanner and a PET scanner in a single machine.

  • Patent number: 6776527
Abstract: A table docking system including a table having a base supported by at least two wheels, and at least one docking station having a plate, and a guide wall positioned and oriented with respect to the plate such that a pathway for the wheels of the patient table is defined between the guide wall and the plate. Another docking system constructed in accordance with the present inventions includes a table having a base defining a groove, and at least one docking station having a plate and at least one vertical projection extending from the plate and sized for receipt within the groove of the base of the patient table. Systems of the present inventions can be used, for example, to quickly and easily move a patient table between multiple tomography scanners.

  • Patent number: 6412483
Abstract: A piston ventilator is disclosed herein which uniquely includes an oxygen blending module which supplies oxygen enhancement for aiding patients requiring respiratory treatment. The oxygen blending module supplies a preselected enrichment of oxygen to a piston and cylinder assembly wherein the amount of oxygen permitted to flow therein is continuously monitored and controlled according to the volume above the piston in the cylinder as calculated by a controller. The oxygen blending module includes a flow sensor which monitors the flow of supplemental oxygen into the piston and cylinder assembly, and further includes a primary oxygen control valve which restricts the flow of oxygen through the flow sensor to the piston and cylinder assembly depending on the difference between the calculated desired amount of oxygen and the target amount of oxygen provided to the controller.

  • Patent number: 6086295
Abstract: This invention is of an automated flash removal apparatus which features counter-rotating trimming wheels which are positioned against the molded flexible urethane part or the molded flexible polyvinyl chloride part. The force of the trimming wheels against the part undergoing the flash removal process is adjustable and is controlled by opposing tension springs. The trimming wheels may by set at any angle to the part so as to enhance the flash removal characteristics. The trimming wheels are guided along the sides of the part by interchangeable guide bars which may be profiled to accommodate parts which present surfaces that are not substantially straight. The trimming wheels utilize a textured pattern which operate to abrade the flash from the part, thereafter polishing the part on the return pass.

  • Patent number: 5918597
Abstract: A piston ventilator is provided which advantageously monitors the positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) in a patient circuit for supplying breathable gas to a patient, and controls a shiftable valve element in an exhalation valve to regulate the amount of resistance during the exhalation portion of the patient's breath. The shiftable element is preferably an inflatable diaphragm which receives a pneumatic signal through a signal conduit. The pressure provided by the signal conduit is controlled by the amount of gas vented by a PEEP valve, wherein the greater the opening of the PEEP valve, the greater the amount of gas from the patient circuit is vented therethrough and consequently the less the restriction is provided in the exhalation valve.
