An example computer-implemented method includes obtaining information indicative of a first set of components embedded in a software package; determining risk levels for respective ones of the components in the first set based on a data flow representation of the software package; and assigning a priority for patching a software vulnerability in a given component of the first set based at least in part on the risk level of the given component.

Abstract: A storage area network management application operates using agents for management of resources. Authenticity is verified in installing an agent on a host computer system in the storage area network. A file is identified for use in installing the agent. The file is signed to produce a digital signature for the file. A certificate is sent to a recipient for use in verifying authenticity of information. The file and digital signature are sent to the recipient. At the recipient, the certificate and the digital signature are used to verify the file. An agent installation operation is performed, using the file, to install the agent on the host computer system.

Abstract: A method and architecture allowing a remote user, especially an Internet remote user, to securely access private resources protected by a firewall. The architecture comprises a computer facility and many remote user terminals connected via the Internet. The computer facility comprises a security server that controls a security database. The firewall comprises a centralized security means, which is under the control of a security server and is arranged to authenticate remote users and to provide a security profile describing all resources a user may access with a single sign-on data during a single session. A user's terminal further includes a device to generate one-time passwords and the computer includes a device to decode the passwords. The accessed resources may be servers or logical units acceded though protocols having a notion of authentication.
