  • Patent number: 11912645
Abstract: The invention is based on the discovery of a new bacterial compound with analgesic properties which could be used as a new tool for the treatment of pain disorders such as visceral pain. Studying the mechanisms implicated in analgesic properties of the probiotic Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917 (EcN), inventors characterized, the amino fatty acids produced by EcN, which display the Ecn analgesic properties. One of these compounds inhibits the hypersensitivity to colorectal distension induced by capsaicin, which is a very powerful nociceptive compound and acts via the GABA B receptor. Furthermore, inventors demonstrate that this compound is able to cross the cellular epithelial barrier (such as the intestinal epithelium). Thus, the invention relates to a lipopetide compound, derived from gamma-aminobutyric acid. The invention also relates to a lipopeptide compound according to the invention for the treatment of treating pain disorder, such as somatic pain and visceral pain.

  • Patent number: 11860268
Abstract: A system and method for determining a number of occupants at a location using multiple modalities. The method includes gathering a first data set with a motion sensor of the lighting system. A second data set is gathered with a transceiver of an RF subsystem. First and second estimates are calculated from the second data set using first and second algorithms. The first estimate and the second estimate are fused to create a fused occupant estimate. The first algorithm, the second algorithm, or both the first algorithm and the second algorithm are trained by inputting the second occupant estimate and/or the second set of data to recalibrate parameters of the first algorithm and/or inputting the first occupant estimate and/or the first set of data to recalibrate parameters during training of the second algorithm. A building control system can operated in response to the fused occupant estimate.

  • Patent number: 9626240
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for logging of messages in a development environment. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide dynamically adaptive logging of runtime messages generated by an application. These embodiments provide a way to handle the volume of information stored in the logs by dynamically changing the severity associated with generated messages based on previous code path execution. Embodiments can use a set of metrics to replace the usual static log level associated with the code by the developer. For example, such metrics can include but are not limited to a cost-based (storage volume on disk), an exception-based (weight increase in catch block), and/or a crowd-based (community can vote down noise). As a result, embodiments can provide more detailed information when the error is recurring for a particular user but without generating so much information as to make the log difficult to use.
