The controller animates in the active reel matrix a plurality of game symbols, and a plurality of configurable symbols selected moving from a space moving into the active reel matrix. When the plurality of game symbols selected include a first trigger symbol, the controller also expands the active reel matrix to include more symbols. When the active reel matrix includes a second trigger symbol, the controller absorbs values of the plurality of configurable symbols into the second trigger symbol.

Abstract: A gaming system including a processor and a memory storing instructions thereon which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: select symbols from reel strips stored in the memory for display in corresponding columns by determining stopping positions for the reel strips; cause display of the selected symbols in the columns on a display of a gaming device; determine that a trigger condition stored in the memory is satisfied based on the selected symbols; and in response to determining that the trigger condition is satisfied: replace one or more of the selected symbols in a group of symbol positions with an animation effect, the animation effect including display of a spin and stop sequence of credit values in the group of symbol positions; select a subset of the credit values; and cause display of the subset of credit values in the group of symbol positions.

The electronic gaming system may be configured to: (1) in response to a bonus feature being triggered, generate a game interface including a plurality of matrix positions; (2) in response to the bonus feature being triggered, record each of the matrix positions as being in an active state; (3) for each matrix position recorded as being in the active state, perform a first random determination; (4) cause a cash on reel (COR) symbol to be displayed in at least one of the matrix positions based on the first random determination; and (5) record each matrix position in which a COR symbol is not displayed following the first random determination as being in an inactive state.

In one example, the circuitry may be configured to detect a first event that triggers a bonus feature of an electronic wagering game and to detect, during implementation of the bonus feature, a second event that triggers a first collection of one or more values represented by one or more symbols on one or more reels of the electronic wagering game. In this example, the circuitry may also be configured to perform, upon completion of the bonus feature, a second collection of the values represented by the symbols and to then direct the display device to render one or more visual effects corresponding to the first event and the second event. Abstract: During play of a feature game, a gaming machine holds each feature trigger symbol at its respective display position, and if a group of symbol display positions has spins remaining, spins/respins reels of the respective group to obtain replacement symbols for each non-feature trigger symbol in the group. For each of group of symbol display positions, the gaming machine determines, based on the symbols in the groups, whether to award a prize identified by a prize tab associated with the group. Aspects of the feature game may be implemented in a base or primary game.
