  • Publication number: 20100217682
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of capturing user inputs in a fillable electronic form into an electronic wallet. In an embodiment, the method comprises: accessing the fillable electronic form from a wireless handheld device; upon determining whether one or more changes have been made in any field in the fillable electronic form, requesting authorization to receive information from the fields in the fillable electronic form to update the secured information in the electronic wallet; and upon receiving the authorization, receiving the information from the fields in the fillable electronic form and writing the information into corresponding record fields as secured information in the electronic wallet. In an embodiment, the method further comprises first populating fields in the fillable electronic form with secured information from the electronic wallet.

  • Publication number: 20100189353
Abstract: A method aligns a character to a sampling grid of an image, where an outline of the character is specified by input pen commands. Points and contours of the input pen commands are determined. An orientation of each contour is determined. A first directed acyclic graph (DAG) is constructed indicating a hierarchical relationship of related contours. Radicals are determined using the first DAG. Simple segments of the contours are determined and merged independently for each radical. Segment pairs and their hinted coordinates are determined. The segment pairs are sorted and a second DAG is constructed for the sorted segment pairs. Collisions between the segment pairs are resolved using the second DAG. The segments pairs, x-free points, and y-free points are fitted to the sampling grid independently for each radical and a result of the fitting is stored in output pen commands.

  • Publication number: 20100188408
Abstract: A method aligns a character to a sampling grid of an image. An original uniform width path that traces a s keleton of the character is specified by input pen commands having original coordinates. The width of the original path is rounded to a nearest integer to produce a hinted width. The original path is traversed using the input pen commands to identify segments of the path. The segments are stored in an array. Hinted coordinates are determined for each segment in the array. The array is sorted, and a directed acyclic graph (DAG) is constructed. Collisions between the segments are resolved using the sorted array, the DAG, and the width of the hinted path. The segments are fitted to the sampling grid, and the result is stored in output pen commands, thereby aligning the skeleton of the character to the sampling grid.

  • Publication number: 20090304361
Abstract: Devices and methods for receiving, processing and formatting digital video. The devices may include a single semiconductor chip on which is imprinted a radio frequency signal tuner module and a display interface module. The display interface module may be configured to receive programming information from the radio frequency signal tuner module. The display interface module may be configured to communicate the programming information to a digital video recorder. The radio frequency tuner module may include a first radio frequency input channel and a second radio frequency input channel. The radio frequency signal tuner module may include a system oscillator and a phase-locked loop (“PLL”) circuit configured to generate a clock signal. The phase-locked loop circuit may be configured to transmit the signal to the display interface module and to any other suitable modules on the chip.

  • Publication number: 20090236890
Abstract: A chair has a seat 1 and a backrest 2 and the backrest 2 is allowed to be tilted backward by elastic deformation of right and left back frame devices 4. The right and left back frame devices 4 each are composed of two unit frames 43 and 44. The back frame device 4 has a main portion 4a which are disposed outside the right and left sides of the seat 1, upper inward portions 43a and 44a which are connected to an upper rear end of the main portion 4a, lower inward portions 43b and 44b which go under the seat 1 from a lower end portion of the main portion 4a, and forward end portions 43c and 44c which are integrally connected to the lower inward portions 43b and 44b. The forward end portions 43c and 44c are fixed to the base 7.

  • Publication number: 20090234751
Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic wallet for a wireless mobile device, and a method of operating the electronic wallet. In an embodiment, the electronic wallet comprises wallet invocation means responsive to an external trigger originating externally from the wallet; user authentication means for authenticating the user of the electronic wallet upon invocation of the wallet by the external trigger; and means for returning card information stored in the wallet in dependence upon a form specified by the external trigger invoking the wallet. The external trigger may be a webpage accessed via an Internet web browser on the wireless mobile device, the webpage having a wallet trigger instruction embedded therein. The wallet trigger instruction may be an extension embedded into the header of the webpage accessed via the Internet web browser. The webpage may further include field ID tags mapping specific data fields in the wallet to form input fields provided in the webpage.

  • Publication number: 20090233579
Abstract: There is disclosed a system and method of making an electronic payment from a wireless mobile device. In an embodiment, the method comprises: providing an electronic wallet, the electronic wallet having a persistent store for storing data for one or more payment cards and a wallet security module configured to verify authorized access to the electronic wallet; and permitting access to the data for one or more payment cards stored in the electronic wallet upon verification of authorized access by the wallet security module. In an embodiment, the wallet security module is configured to store one or more of a password and biometric data, and the method further comprises: comparing any subsequently input password or biometric data to a password or biometric data previously supplied by the authorized user and stored in the wallet security module; and if the comparison matches or is within an acceptable range, then permitting access to the data for one or more payment cards stored in the electronic wallet.

  • Publication number: 20090202098
Abstract: An earbud is disclosed for use in a user's ear. The earbud includes an ear pad shaped to engage the concha of the ear and an audio driver coupled to the ear pad. When the earbud is installed in the user's ear the ear pad substantially occludes, or closes up the concha of the user's ear. Thus ambient noise is significantly attenuated before reaching the user's ear canal. Also, the earbud is supported primarily by the ear pad resting in the concha.

  • Publication number: 20090144780
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises identifying user selection preferences of an identified user having accessed the network, the identifying based on an accumulation of user selection inputs executed by the identified user, relative to input options presented to the user and identifying respective available network items, the accumulation including an identification of the input options not having been selected by the identified user; determining a group of network users having a highest correlation of shared interests with the identified user, based on identifying preferred network items for the identified user, and identifying first network users providing highest relative user affinity values for each of the preferred network items; and determining at least one of new network items most likely to be preferred by the identified user, based on determining, from among network items not presented to the identifier user, the preferred network items for each of the first network users in the group.

  • Publication number: 20070288510
Abstract: A cache server is provided in a network for storing Java objects for retrieval by one or multiple application servers. Application server(s) are configured to request an object from the cache server, rather than requesting the Java object directly from a database, so as to reduce processing load on the database and free up database resources. Responsive to a request for a Java object from an application server, e.g., in an HTTP request, the cache server determines if the object is stored in memory and if so, serializes the requested object and sends the serialized object to the requesting server, e.g., in an HTTP response. The requesting server then deserializes the Java object. If the object is not stored in memory, the cache server instantiates the object (typically by requesting the object from the database), serializes the instantiated object and sends it to the requesting server. Cache coherency methods are also provided.

Abstract: The present invention is a connection light attached to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for viewing wiring connections to the rear surface of the UPS and to nearby equipment. The connection light is operable under normal conditions as well as during a power failure. In some configurations, the connection light is extendible in three dimensions and can be pointed in any direction. The connection light may draw power directly from the UPS, or it may contain its own rechargeable battery. In some configurations, the light is detachable from the UPS.
