  • Patent number: 8883767
Abstract: A low ether gel composition for application to skin comprising a keratolytic agent, in particular salicylic acid, and comprising a nitrocellulose and one or more volatile ingredients, which forms a film on contact with skin adequate to form a protective barrier for the keratolytic agent for a period of time necessary to provide treatment to the skin; methods of treating using such compositions, and dispensers containing such compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 4, 2010
Date of Patent: November 11, 2014
    Assignee: MSD Consumer Care, Inc.
Inventors: Gerald R. Dever, Eric Chen-nan Su, William Scott Rogersr, Robert C. Johnson
  • Patent number: 8066698
Abstract: A cryosurgery device includes an aerosol container holding a liquid refrigerant and having a valve and a stem extending out therefrom; an actuator seated on the stem and including an outlet tube for receiving released refrigerant from the container; a hub mounted on the container and including slots therein; and a base having a central opening for receiving the hub, the base including aligning projections that enter the slots in the hub to engage and apply pressure to the actuator to cause the actuator to depress the stem and release refrigerant into the base. The container may further contain an applicator tube mounted to the hub in fluid communication with the outlet tube with a porous tip mounted to a distal end of the applicator tube for receiving the refrigerant and, being chilled thereby, applied to a skin lesion to be treated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2009
Date of Patent: November 29, 2011
    Assignee: MSD Consumer Care, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6890400
Abstract: Overlaminated faceless PSA label constructions of this invention comprise a low material cost, thin prelaminate PSA construction having a layer of pressure-sensitive material disposed on a release surface of a removable substrate, and a nonblocking continuous film disposed over a surface of the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive to render the pressure-sensitive adhesive tack free. An optically transparent overlaminate film layer is disposed over the nonblocking continuous film, and a printed indicia is interposed between the overlaminate film layer and nonblocking continuous film. The prelaminate PSA construction does not include a conventional facestock formed from paper, cardboard or plastic, and is highly conformable.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2001
Date of Patent: May 10, 2005
    Assignee: Avery Dennison Corporation

  • Publication number: 20030198737
Abstract: Faceless PSA label constructions of this invention comprise a flexible substrate having a release surface, and a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on the release surface. A nonblocking continuous film that, in combination with the pressure-sensitive adhesive is sufficiently self supporting, is disposed over a surface of the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive to render the pressure-sensitive adhesive tack free. The continuous film is selected from the group of film-forming polymers consisting of polyamide resins, polyester resins, polyurethane resins, polyacrylate resins, vinyl acetate resins and mixtures thereof having a tensile strength of at least 200 psi, and a percent elongation of at least 50. The continuous film can be applied sequentially or simultaneously with the PSA. For purposes of simultaneous application it is desired that the continuous film be formed from a material having a hot melt viscosity that is within a factor of about two times a hot melt viscosity for the PSA.
