  • Patent number: 11703183
Abstract: A method for lubricating a sealed bearing providing a first ring and a second ring capable of rotating concentrically relative to one another, and seals delimiting together with the first and second rings a sealed chamber. The method includes a removing a first predetermined quantity of lubricant from the sealed chamber until the pressure in the sealed chamber reaches a first pressure value, and then injecting a second predetermined quantity of lubricant in the sealed chamber until the pressure in the sealed chamber reaches a second pressure value, the first pressure value and the second pressure value being determined so that the pressure inside the sealed chamber remains within a predetermined interval, the boundaries of the interval being determined according to characteristics of the seals so that the sealed chamber remains waterproof to the lubricant when lubricant is removed from or injected in the sealed chamber.

  • Patent number: 8891171
Abstract: The high sag thick lens is for use in an illumination apparatus, such as a solid state light source. The lens is made of a first lens part having an optical active surface and a series of elongated baffles, the baffles having a top portion, the top portions defining a line that follows the curvature of the optical active surface to create a second lens part of uniform thickness. A second lens part is fused to the first lens part to create the lens. The second lens part has an optical active surface and a series of elongated baffles, the baffles having a thickness comparable to the thickness of the corresponding optical active surfaces. The first and the second baffles are intertwined along the entire length of their lateral surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20120170280
Abstract: A composite high sag thick lens for automotive lighting is used in conjunction with a solid state illumination source, such as a white LED. The composite high sag thick lens is made of a first lens section having an optical active curve surface and a series of elongated baffles, the baffles having a top portion, the top portions defining a line that follows the curvature of the active surface to create an upper lens portion of uniform thickness. A second lens section is fused to the first lens section to create the composite lens. The second lens has an optical active surface and a series of elongated baffles the baffles having a thickness comparable to the thickness of the corresponding optical active surface. The first and the second plurality of baffles are intertwined along the entire length of their lateral surfaces.
