  • Publication number: 20210197452
Abstract: Some examples include a fusing system for an additive manufacturing machine including a carriage movable across a build zone along the x-axis, a thermic source mounted to the carriage, and a roller mounted to the carriage adjacent to the thermic source. A longitudinal section of an exterior surface of the roller is exposed to indirect heat from the thermic source. The roller is controlled to rotate during and outside of a spreading operation of the build material. The carriage is to maintain the roller within a radiative heat transfer area of the thermic source.

  • Publication number: 20210197481
Abstract: Example systems relate to recoater movement. A non-transitory machine readable medium may contain instructions executable by a processor. The instructions may include instructions to change an action of a recoater in response to a determination that the recoater has reached a first location of a build area comprising build material. Instructions may further include instructions to lift the recoater in response to a determination that the recoater has reached a second location of the build area. Instructions may additionally include instructions to move the recoater over the second location at the lifted position, wherein the second location includes a build-up of the build material.

  • Publication number: 20210197459
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to printhead indexing. An example method can include rotating a crank arm connected to a coupling bar. The method can include moving a print sled translationally by the coupling bar, where the print sled may be located in X, Z, and Y orthogonal dimensions. In this example, the print sled may be translationally moved to one of a number of index positions by the coupling bar in response to rotation of the crank arm, where the number of index positions are separately located in a Y dimension with the same Z dimension.

  • Publication number: 20210116508
Abstract: Described herein are techniques that facilitate the prediction of the end-of-life of a direct current (DC) motor of an apparatus. The described techniques include tracking end-of-life indicative motor-response values of a DC motor based on an applied-voltage value at its corresponding specified speed of the DC motor when the motor is engaged. in response to the determination that the tracked values exceed a range of acceptable operational values, a health-status notification regarding that DC motor is generated. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20200129247
Abstract: In some embodiments, a hand controller apparatus for controlling a tool in a robotic surgery system can include a body including a proximal end and a distally located interface end configured to be coupled to an input apparatus configured to control a surgical tool. The hand controller apparatus can include a control lever attached to a pivot joint proximate a side surface of the body and extending along the body and away from the proximal end, the control lever being laterally moveable relative to the side surface of the body about the pivot joint. The control lever can include a tail region adjacent to the pivot joint and a paddle region connected to the tail region and extending toward the distally located interface end. The tail region can include an inner surface facing the body and an outer surface opposing the inner surface, and at least part of the outer surface of the tail region can be outwardly curved.

  • Publication number: 20190285281
Abstract: An ignition switch assembly includes an electronics compartment defined by a lower housing and an upper housing for receiving an ignition switch. A cam actuator is coupled to a gas control shaft and is positioned at least partially within the electronics compartment for selectively engaging the ignition switch. The cam actuator includes a center hub that extends through a top aperture defined in the upper housing and an outer hub positioned around the center hub and having an outer hub diameter that is larger than the top aperture. A connecting wall extends between the center hub and the outer hub to define a circumferential groove for collecting spilled fluid and directing it toward a drain port defined in the lower housing.

  • Patent number: 9262917
Abstract: Provided is a safety directional indicator to improve highway safety. Embodiments of the invention include devices for guiding a driver of a vehicle in a desired direction, typically away from highway workers, pedestrians, curbs, and opposing lanes of traffic. Specifically included is a safety directional indicator system comprising a flexible belt with a plurality of light transmitting bars disposed along the belt and having a plurality of LEDs disposed at one elongated end of each light transmitting bar and in operable communication with a control system for illuminating the LEDs in a manner to indicate a direction for traffic. Safety devices according to the invention can be stand-alone devices, devices capable of being attached to objects or structures at a highway scene, or configured to be worn on a person's body. An object of the safety devices according to embodiments of the invention is to increase driver awareness of highway situations especially during conditions of restricted visibility.
