Abstract: Haptic articles, methods of making the haptic articles, and applications using sintered articles prepared from molded gel compositions are provided. The haptic articles include a shaped zirconia ceramic plate and a piezoelectric actuator attached to the shaped zirconia ceramic plate to vibrate the shaped zirconia ceramic plate at an ultrasonic frequency.

Abstract: A carrier includes an enclosure for storing articles sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) and a replacement component that is affixed to the enclosure as an integral component of the carrier. The replacement component includes a housing that provides an enclosure for a device having a sensor for sensing one or more environmental parameters. At least one of the sensed environmental parameters is an ESD parameter.

Abstract: A hand-held, manually-operated sanding tool includes a base body, a handle, and a coupling device. The base body defines an aperture extending from a first surface of the base body to a second surface of the base body. The handle includes a grip and a post. The coupling device is coupled with the post of the handle through the aperture. The handle and the coupling device are positioned near opposite surfaces of the base body to rotatably couple the handle to the base body such that the handle is rotatable about an axis defined by the post.

Abstract: A hand-held, manually-operated, sanding tool for use with a replaceable sheet-like abrasive material, such as sandpaper, includes a base member, a molded interface pad provided on the base member to define a working face against which the sheet-like abrasive material is arranged, and a retaining mechanism arranged to maintain the sheet-like abrasive material in operative relation with the interface pad.

Abstract: A hand-held, manually-operated sanding tool including a base member, a clamping mechanism, and a tab. The clamping mechanism is pivotally mounted to the base member, in alignment with a contact surface thereof such that the clamping mechanism pivots between a closed position and an open position in which a gap is defined between the clamping mechanism and the contact surface. The tab extends at least partially between the contact surface and the clamping mechanism, and establishes a stop surface that positively positions an edge of a sheet of abrasive material relative to an end of the base member as part of a loading operation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for applying or dispensing fluids such as surgical prep solution are disclosed. The applicator includes a distributor element and a container of surgical prep solution. The distributor element includes a projecting element that separates at least two orifices in the distributor element to provide uniform distribution of the surgical prep solution.
