  • Patent number: 9445583
Abstract: A deep sea fishing lure including a lure body, a plurality of lights, a power source and a controller. The lure body has a housing with sidewalls made of a generally light-transmissive material. The plurality of lights is mounted in the housing. Each light in the plurality of lights is capable of emitting at least two colors. The power source is mounted with respect to the housing. The controller operably connects the power source to the plurality of lights for controlling which of the at least two colors are emitted by the plurality of lights.

  • Patent number: 8533990
Abstract: A deep sea fishing lure has a generally cylindrical housing that is covered by a jacket that resembles a favored prey of sport fish such as a squid. The housing is light-transmissive and contains sets of flashing lights. One set of lights is linear and parallel to the direction of travel of the lure through the water. Another set is arranged is a circular array facing aft of the lure. A fiber optic bundle is installed in the housing. An interior end of the fiber optic bundle is next to the circular light set to accept light from the light set and transmit it to the outer end of the fiber optic bundle in order to attract a game fish. A flasher module operates to sequentially flash or blink the lights. A rechargeable power supply supplies power to the lights.

  • Patent number: 7137222
Abstract: A downrigger apparatus to hold a fishing line at a selected fishing depth in game fish inhabited water, and a sound emitting device attached to the downrigger cable of the downrigger apparatus. The downrigger apparatus includes a reel and a downrigger cable spooled on the reel. The free end of the downrigger cable extends to a depth beyond the selected fishing depth. A downrigger weight is attached at the free end of the cable. A sound emitting device is attached to the downrigger cable and emits sounds attractive to the fish. Sound waves travel through the water a range extending beyond the visual range of the fish. Fish, although out of visual range of the lure, detect the sound and travel toward the source. The fish eventually comes in to visual range of the lure being trolled behind the fishing boat. The fish is attracted to and takes the lure. The sound emitting device can generate intermittent sounds.
