  • Patent number: 8011130
Abstract: An apparatus generally includes a gun mount portion and a sight mount portion that are coupled together by a resilient member. The gun mount portion provides attachment to a gun and the sight mount portion provides attachment to a gun sight. The resilient member is configured to allow, when attached to the gun, a linear displacement of the sight mount portion relative to the gun mount portion along a longitudinal axis of the gun.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 2007
Date of Patent: September 6, 2011
    Assignee: Raytheon Company
Inventors: Eric E. Chang, Terrance L. Eck, Richard L. Scott
  • Patent number: 7866191
Abstract: An automatic clothes washer having a clothes trap for reducing the likelihood that an article of clothing can escape from a wash basket during the spinning of the basket.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2004
Date of Patent: January 11, 2011
    Assignee: Whirlpool Corporation
Inventors: George L. Turner, Eric E. Chang
  • Patent number: 7832237
Abstract: An automatic washing machine comprises a spin tube coupled to the basket and an agitator shaft coupled to an agitator mounted in the basket. A motor coupled to the agitator shaft applies a torque the agitator shaft and thereby the agitator in first and second torque directions. A clutch couples the spin tube to the agitator shaft for cooperative rotation of the basket and the agitator regardless of the rotational direction of the agitator shaft. Because of the dual directionality of the clutch, reversing the motor simultaneously dynamically brakes the basket and the agitator, thereby eliminating the need for a separate friction brake for the basket.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 2009
Date of Patent: November 16, 2010
    Assignee: Whirlpool Corporation
Inventors: Eric E. Chang, William K. Kangas, Kurt Werner, Scott D. Slabbekoorn, James R. Sawyer
