  • Publication number: 20110283585
Abstract: A firearm may have a plurality of power-consuming accessories that can be attached to the weapon. In order to reduce the weight of these power-consuming accessories, as well as the proliferation of their batteries, the Weapon Accessory Power Distribution System provides a common power source to power the power-consuming accessories attached to the weapon. One or more powered rails are provided to provide a point of electrical interconnection for the power-consuming accessories, absent the use of connectors with their tethering cables, which are susceptible to entanglement. The powered rail(s) are electrically interconnected with a power source, which typically is a battery mounted in the butt stock of the weapon.

In order to reduce the weight of these power-consuming accessories, as well as the proliferation of their batteries, the Weapons Accessory Power Distribution System provides a common power source to power the power-consuming accessories attached to the weapon. One or more powered rails are provided on the handguard, which encircles the barrel of the weapon, to provide a point of mechanical and electrical interconnection for the power-consuming accessories to provide quick connect mounting and dismounting of the power-consuming accessory, absent the use of connectors with their tethering cables, which are susceptible to entanglement. The powered rail(s) are electrically interconnected with a power source, which typically is a battery mounted in the butt stock of the weapon.

  • Publication number: 20090184125
Abstract: A waste container includes a top chamber, a base chamber, upper and lower lids, and a drive mechanism mechanically coupling the lower lid with the upper lid. The top chamber has a first opening for receiving waste, and the base chamber has a second opening for receiving waste from the top chamber. The upper lid is disposed on the top chamber and moves between a closed position covering the first opening and an open position exposing the first opening. The lower lid is disposed on the base chamber and moves between a closed position covering the second opening and an open position exposing the second opening. The drive mechanism is actuated so as to move the lower lid to the open position when the upper lid moves to the closed position from the open position. The lower lid returns to the closed position when the upper lid is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5800108
Abstract: A coupling device having a first member provided with threads, a second member having an opening into and out of which the first member is inserted and removed, threaded elements within the second member mounted for movement between a first position where the first member may be threaded with the second member and a second position where the threaded elements have a diameter larger than the diameter of the threads of the first member permitting the first member to slide axially in and out of the second member, pull/lock/torque pins associated with the threaded elements and a manually operable mechanism for moving the threaded elements longitudinally into engagement with the pins expanding the threaded elements to their second position.

  • Patent number: 5788443
Abstract: A male coupling with movable threaded segments, consisting of a shaft, a sleeve mounted to move along the shaft, a plurality of threaded segments surrounding the shaft and mounted to move inwardly and outwardly relative to the shaft to effectively vary the outer diameter of the assembled threaded segments, the sleeve and threaded segments including surfaces adjoining each other such that movement of the sleeve in one direction causes the threaded segments to move inwardly toward the shaft, and a spring resiliently urging the threaded segments outward.

  • Patent number: 5613816
Abstract: A coupling device including first and second members, threaded elements mounted within one of the elements to move between open and closed position, adjacent portions of the threaded elements being provided with sloping surfaces and pin assemblies associated with the threaded elements and positioned between the sloping surfaces such that as a manually operable device is operated the threaded elements are moved longitudinally into engagement with the pin assemblies wedging the pin assemblies against the sloping surface expanding the threaded elements. There are also disclosed balls associated with the threaded elements positioned within openings within the coupling device and being moved when the threaded elements assume their open position into locking relationship.

  • Patent number: 5038817
Abstract: A narrow accessway sewage pump remotely operable, multi-part, quick connect/disconnect slide coupling comprising a fixed portion that forms a first part of a slide-together, bayonet-type coupling with a movable portion forming a second part of the coupling. The movable part of the coupling supports a liquid pump and slides together with and is physically supported by the fixed portion. A third slide stop valve portion is positioned intermediate both the fixed and movable portions and all three portions of the coupling have interiorly formed open passageways for passage of liquid therethrough. The passageways in the three portions all come into alignment upon the three portions being properly seated together in assembled relation.

  • Patent number: 4919343
Abstract: An anti-flooding sewage grinder pump liquid level control system in a separately mounted canister is provided for installation within and controlling operation of a sewage grinder pump installed within a sewage collection tank. Within the control canister, pneumatically operated electric control switches for controlling on/off operation of the sewage grinder pump and for redundant pump down of alarm high level flooding conditions, are provided. The control switches are mounted within one or more diving bell-type containment vessels for preventing flooding of the electric control switches in case of surge overloads of liquid sewage or failure of the primary on/off pneumatic/electrical control switch. In the event of flooding, the containment vessel will pressurize air in the top of the containment vessel and will actuate the alarm level control switch. The alarm level control switch is wired to provide redundant excitation to the sewage grinder pump motor.

  • Patent number: 4822213
Abstract: A narrow-accessway sewage collection tank assembly and system using a remote operated, two-part, slide coupling for supporting a sewage pump within an enlarged collection tank for installation outside below normal ground level of residences, commercial and industrial buildings for use in the collection and disposal of sewage produced in the buildings. The narrow accessway tank system can be installed with minimum cost and impact on the environment while maintaining proper operating conditions, good scouring of the collection tank bottom and facilitating below ground installation and subsequent maintenance and servicing of the sewage pump unit form the surface. The system comprises an enlarged sewage collection tank to be planted below level in the ground near a building and connected to suitable gravity drain conduits interconnected between the facility to be serviced and the collection tank for collecting raw sewage.
