Patent number: 12597218Abstract: Network subscriber devices simulate peer devices via virtual models displayed within a real-time capture of a physical environment, as an extended reality (XR) experience for users. Immersion of the XR experience is enhanced based on layering the virtual model of a simulated device in relation to digits of a user included within the real-time capture, thus appearing like the user is holding the simulated device. The digits of the user that are layered above the virtual model can be tracked such that the user can move these digits to make virtual inputs to the simulated device that can cause virtual display content shown with the virtual model to change. Device specification information is also shown within the XR experience. Via the XR experience, network subscribers can be better informed on devices available for use on a telecommunication network and can immediately acquire devices being simulated within the XR experience.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2023Date of Patent: April 7, 2026Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Susan Dawn Andreson, Eric Foster, Jim Joojin Song, Ali Daniali, Brian Garcia

Patent number: 12399670Abstract: A device receives from the UE a representation of a first screen associated with the UE and presents the representation of the first screen on a second screen associated with the device. The device creates a first overlay associated with the first screen and a second overlay associated with the second screen. The second overlay is configured to receive an input from a user. The device receives from the second user the input and presents the input in the second overlay. The device sends the input to the UE, which is configured to present the input in the first overlay associated with the first screen.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2022Date of Patent: August 26, 2025Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Jim Joojin Song, Eric Foster

Publication number: 20240085082Abstract: The ice dispenser includes a storage bin configured to store ice, a chute disposed underneath the storage bin, and a blockage breaker disposed on the chute. A lower surface of the storage bin defines an ice outlet, and the ice is configured to exit the storage bin via the ice outlet by way of gravity. The chute rotates about a pivot point between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the chute prevents ice from exiting the storage bin via the ice outlet, and in the open position, the chute allows ice to exit the storage bin via the ice outlet by way of gravity. The blockage breaker extends into the storage bin and when the chute rotates from the open position to the closed position, the blockage breaker is moved further into the storage bin, thereby breaking ice blockages in the storage bin.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventor: Eric Foster

Patent number: 8749240Abstract: This invention provides a pulse induction metal detector where a coil transmits a pulsed magnetic field to energize metal objects that are often buried or hidden in a matrix (ground) containing ferromagnetic minerals. A difficult challenge is to detect and identify the metal object while ignoring the ferromagnetic matrix. Techniques are presented for achieving this.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2011Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: White's Electronics, INc.Inventors: Eric Foster, John L. Earle, Carl W. Moreland

Publication number: 20070205925Abstract: ACARS systems and methods for compiling messages includes a processing device configured for mapping eight-bit characters in an eight-bit character stream into a six bit map to create a generally six-bit character stream. The processing device is further configured for encoding the generally six-bit character stream into an eight-bit character stream. Optionally, the processing device includes a look-up table configured to retrieve substituted six-bit characters in response to the presence of the eight-bit character received at a processor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2006Publication date: September 6, 2007Inventor: Eric Foster

Publication number: 20060136976Abstract: Techniques are provided for re-mapping and interleaving transport packets of multiple transport streams for processing by a single transport demultiplexor. At least one PID re-map table is employed having re-map values indexed by n possible PID values of transport packets associated with at one transport stream of the multiple transport streams. The n possible PID values is less than or equal to the number of PID values which can be handled by the single transport demultiplexor, and is less than all possible PID values of transport packets within the multiple transport streams. The PID values within at least one transport stream are compared with the n possible PID values of the PID re-map table, and when a match is found, the table is indexed using the matching entry and a re-map value is generated therefrom. The re-map value replaces the original PID value within the transport packet.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2006Publication date: June 22, 2006Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: David Coupe, Eric Foster, Bryan Lloyd, Chuck Ngai

Publication number: 20060080110Abstract: The preferred embodiment of the present invention provides an improved transport demultiplexor that can receive and filter different data types before sending the data to system memory. The preferred embodiment provides a string comparator to facilitate real time filtering of continuous incoming data before loading the data into system memory. The string comparator preferably uses a bit-maskable matching filter that filters system data in real time as the data is being delivered to system memory. When data matching the filter is located, the destination address of that data is determined and delivered to the processor. This allows the processor to quickly locate the desired data and thus facilitates the real time processing of that data.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2005Publication date: April 13, 2006Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Eric Foster, Dennis Franklin, Bryan Lloyd

Patent number: 5036977Abstract: The invention concerns the joining of webs in adjacent cassettes, particularly as a supply for a ticket issuing machine. A web supply system comprises a plurality of cassettes (12) each containing a fan folded web (13) of material, each cassette having a common web exit and web entrance, the cassettes being arranged side by side and the leading end of a first of the webs being arranged to pass through the exit of that cassette to an operating/issuing machine and the trailing end (19) of the web of each cassette (except the last) extending through the entrance of that cassette and being joined to the leading end (19a) of the web from the next adjacent cassette, the web extending in a loop between adjacent cassettes so that the web from all the cassettes can be supplied as a continuous web to the processing/issuing machine.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1990Date of Patent: August 6, 1991Assignee: Almex Control Systems LimitedInventors: Paul Schofield, Eric Foster

Patent number: 4731833Abstract: A modular jack for a telephone, particularly for use in a handset, has a minimal height or profile by using a circuit board, on which the jack is mounted, as one of the walls defining the aperture into which a modular plug is inserted. The overall height of the jack is reduced by the thickness of the circuit board. The jack and board assembly has the smallest height dimension possible.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1985Date of Patent: March 15, 1988Assignee: Northern Telecom LimitedInventors: Beverley W. Patent number: 4385209Abstract: A telephone transmitter including an electret transducer is connected to an electrical circuit mounted in the transmitter housing. A resistor which can be of varying value is also connected to the circuit, the value of the resistor being adjusted to bring the operating characteristics within predetermined values. This is done by applying a sound signal of known frequency to the transducer and measuring the output characteristics of the transducer. This enables the suitable value of resistor to be connected into the circuit. By this means variations arising from varying atmospheric conditions at assembly, and other causes, can be allowed for. The metallized strip or film of the electret is preferably mounted with a very slight Vee shaped formation to avoid tight manufacturing tolerances which occur with a straight, or flat, strip.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1980Date of Patent: May 24, 1983Assignee: Northern Telecom LimitedInventors: William D.
