Patent number: 9363222Abstract: Approaches for facilitating selective user moderation of social media channels are disclosed. In certain implementations, one or more posts from a user for submission to a channel directed to a topic may be received. An event relating to the topic may be identified. A predetermined time period associated with the event may be identified. At least some access privileges of the user for the channel may be disabled for at least a portion of the predetermined time period based on a determination that the one or more posts are indicative of one or more undesired characteristics. In some implementations, the predetermined time period may include a first time period before the event begins, a second time period during which the event occurs, a third time period after which the event ends, or other time period associated with the event.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2014Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Yapp Media, LLCInventors: Darren Bounds, Eric Goldstein

Publication number: 20150281164Abstract: Approaches for distributing and optimizing quality and quantity of social media posts or other posts are disclosed. In certain implementations, a post may be received from a user for submission to a channel directed to a topic. A stream flow value may be determined for the channel. The stream flow value may be based on a volume of posts associated with the channel. A rating value associated with the user submitting the post may be determined. A scope of distribution of the post to one or more users accessing the channel may be determined based on the stream flow value and the rating value. In some implementations, channel instances corresponding to the channel may be provided on different device components. At least one channel instance of the channel instances on which to make the post available may be determined based on the stream flow value and the rating value.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2015Publication date: October 1, 2015Applicant: YAPP MEDIA, LLC.Inventors: Darren BOUNDS, ERIC GOLDSTEIN

Patent number: 5395086Abstract: The tripod stand is used to elevate the bottom of a can. Three legs protrude outward from a support platform intersection. The intersection is located below the can bottom. The legs in the intersection establish and lie within a singular support plane beneath the can. Each leg has a foot formed at its remote end. The foot is a compact structure having a lower body protruding below the support plane and having a raised lip protruding above the support plane. The raised lip has a substantially vertical face with an inwardly directed tab near its uppermost periphery. Upon placement of the can bottom on the support plane, the tab locks over the edge of the can bottom. In one embodiment, each foot is generally spherically shaped and the lip is formed as a cut-out from the sphere. In another embodiment, each foot forms a tiered structure defining multiple levels of support surfaces for predetermined can bottom diameters.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1993Date of Patent: March 7, 1995Inventor: Eric Goldstein

Patent number: 5290210Abstract: Step exercise apparatus primarily intended for use in an aquatic environment such as a pool or the like. The apparatus includes a step platform maintained in elevated relation above a foundation surface by a pair of support members. The apparatus has a specific gravity greater than one so as to sink within a body of water, and slots extend through the platform to prevent entrapment of air bubbles when the platform is placed in a pool. Handles in the sides and ends of the apparatus assist the user in manipulating the apparatus while exercising in the water. Removable extension feet selectively increase the step distance between the platform and the pool bottom or other foundation surface on which the apparatus rests.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1992Date of Patent: March 1, 1994Assignee: The Aqua Step CorporationInventors: Peter H. Hand, William J. Saunders, Eric Goldstein, James B. Watson, J. Charles Lockwood, J. Douglas Alsup

Patent number: 5213554Abstract: A device for aerobic step exercises comprising a platform with a flat top, the underside of the platform having a cavity into which either the first or second end of a support member is inserted. Each end has an opening therein or a slot therethrough of a certain depth which contacts engaging means within the cavity to maintain the top of the platform at a certain pre-selected height above the support surface. A respective numeral corresponding to the height is disposed on the support member adjacent its first and second ends. The numeral can be viewed through an opening in the platform when the support member is inserted into the cavity.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: The Step CompanyInventors: Eric Goldstein, William J.
