Patent number: 11971056Abstract: A head unit device for controlling motion of an object includes a chamber filled with a shear thickening fluid (STF) and a piston. The piston is housed within the chamber and exerts pressure against the STF from a force applied to the piston from the object. The STF is configured to have a decreasing viscosity in response to a first range of shear rates and an increasing viscosity in response to a second range of shear rates. The piston includes at least one piston bypass between opposite sides of the piston that controls flow of the STF between the opposite sides of the piston to selectively react with a shear threshold effect of the first range of shear rates or the second range of shear rates.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Moshun, LLCInventors: Timothy John Boundy, Steven Michael Barger, Terence Michael Lydon, Richard Michael Lang, Wilfredo Gonzalez, Jr., Darren Michael Boundy, Eric McHugh, David Schuda, George L Wilson, IV, Gary W. Publication number: 20240093656Abstract: Method and system for detecting a high friction within a flow control device of a fuel system are disclosed. For example, the method includes receiving a service test sequence to execute a service test, performing, in response to receiving the service test sequence, the service test to generate test data, the service test including a first test cycle with a first dither level and a second test cycle with a second dither level, wherein the second dither level is different from the first dither level. The method further includes determining whether a performance difference between the first test cycle and the second test cycle exceeds a predetermined threshold based on the test data and detecting, in response to determining that the performance difference exceeds the predetermined threshold, a presence of high friction within the flow control device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Michael R. Tidwell, Sarah E. Gnau, Eric Gonzalez, Abhishek Javvaji

Patent number: 11778091Abstract: There is a growing problem in correctional facility telecommunications systems in which parties on a voice call may connect inmate callers with restricted parties. Prison communication systems monitor calls to prevent such activity, but in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) environments such systems may fail to detect this activity. The present disclosure provides details of a system and method for using SIP messages common in VoIP environments to detect illicit activity initiated by a party on a voice call within a controlled environment. Scenarios are detected in which a called party connects an inmate caller to a restricted party via three-way call conferencing, call forwarding, or other call features. Corrective actions are then taken when such activity is detected, such as call blocking or alerting officials illicit activity is occurring.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2020Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: Global Tel*Link CorporationInventors: Stephen Hodge, Eric Gonzalez

Patent number: 10933984Abstract: Systems and methods include providing a coaxial helicopter with a main rotor system having an upper rotor system, a coaxial counter-rotating lower rotor system, and a rotor mast assembly having an upper rotor mast and a coaxial counter-rotating lower rotor mast. The upper rotor system and an associated upper vibration reduction system are coupled to the upper rotor mast. The upper vibration reduction system provides in-plane vibration control and reduction to the upper rotor system. The lower rotor system and an associated lower vibration reduction system are coupled to the lower rotor mast. The lower vibration reduction system provides in-plane vibration control and reduction to the lower rotor system. A third vibration reduction system is coupled to the rotor mast assembly and cooperates with the upper and lower vibration reduction systems to provide total in-plane vibration control and reduction to the main rotor system.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2018Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: Textron Innovations Inc.Inventors: Frank Bradley Stamps, Eric Gonzalez, Michael R.
