    Abstract: A method of Internet Protocol (IP) address control includes receiving a request from a computing device for a new IP address, the request including a Media Access Control (MAC) address of the computing device. A query can be sent to a storage resource for a whitelist of MAC numbers associated with IP addresses and an IP address not present on the whitelist can be selected for use in assigning the new IP address. A new IP/MAC pairing of the selected IP address and the MAC address of the computing device is sent to the storage resource for adding to the whitelist and optionally to a firewall for adding to a firewall whitelist. A confirmation can be sent to the computing device, providing the new IP address.

    Abstract: The disclosure herein describes using a password reset agent to automatically change the password of a computing device. A password reset agent is executed at a root level of the computing device, wherein the password reset agent is associated with a public key. A data source is polled by the password reset agent for a private key associated with the public key. Based on finding the private key on the data source, a reset password is determined and based on determining the reset password, the password reset agent changes a current password of the computing device to the determined reset password. The password reset agent runs in the background on the computing device, enabling the agent to change the password, even when the computing device is locked or otherwise inaccessible. The described password reset agent can also be used on virtual machines.

A finding object is created based on vulnerability data associated with a vulnerability finding and that finding object is populated with property values based on the vulnerability data. Technical owner rules associated with a plurality of technical owners are evaluated based on the property values of the finding object and a technical owner is assigned to the finding object based on the evaluated technical owner rules. Once a technical owner is assigned, the finding object is provided to a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) module for distribution of the vulnerability finding to the assigned technical owner for remediation. Classification of vulnerability data using the described property values and technical owner rules provides an efficient, accurate, and automated way of distributing vulnerability findings of large, complex code bases to teams for remediation.
