  • Publication number: 20030124148
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating chlamydial infections in mammals and humans. According to the invention, tissue material containing clamydia is heated to temperatures of greater than 50° C., preferably 80-85° C., for 1-5 hours in the presence of agents, preferably formaldehyde or p-formaldehyde, which cross-link proteins.

  • Publication number: 20020001595
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for preparing an antiviral agent in which antigen-containing blood and/or tissue is heated to a temperatures above about 50° C. in the presence of at least one protein cross-linking agent, such as formaldehyde, p-formaldehyde, formalin, phenol, and/or phenol derivatives.

  • Patent number: 5171538
Abstract: A reagent supply system for a medical anlytical instrument includes a reagent space provided on the instrument and reagent vessels which are received in the reagent space. In the reagent space there is provided at least one reagent vessel compartment with a bottom, lateral guide elements, and a top guiding element, as well as a front stop. The instrument contains a fluid communication system for connection with a reagent vessel situated in the reagent vessel compartment. On the end face of the reagent vessel compartment is disposed a hollow needle near the bottom surface thereof and extending in a direction which is parallel to the bottom surface. The reagent vessel has on its front wall facing the end face a pierceable seal with a pierceable elastic stopper.

  • Patent number: 4834234
Abstract: The present invention provides a container for test strips for the analysis of body fluids, comprising a container body (2) with a circular removal opening (2a), a sealing surface (14) facing the axis (A) of the opening and a stopper (3) for the closure of the removal opening (2a) which has a cover plate (4), a hollow plug (7) attached thereto with an outwardly facing sealing beading (8), a drying agent cell (6) within the hollow plug and a support element (10) by means of which the plug is supported radially inwardly, wherein the support element is so constructed that it abuts the hollow plug in a region axially displaced away from the cover plate (4) with regard to the zenithal line (15) of the sealing beading (8), whereas axially, at the height of the sealing beading (8), between the inner side of the hollow plug and the drying agent cell, even when the stopper (3) is in a position permitting removal, an annular gap (9 ) is present so that the hollow plug (7) is radially inwardly elastically deformable in

  • Patent number: 4717018
Abstract: A unitary snap hinge made of plastic with two hinge parts which are connected with each other by means of a main joint. A flexible connecting piece is connected with the hinge parts by means of secondary joints, whereby the secondary joints have a distance from the main joint transverse to the joint axis and that the joints are designed as film joints. The hinge parts have the tendency to snap into the one or other end position from a position of an unsteady balance within their own pivot range. The snap hinge is a separate structural element. The one hinge part supports a locking element for a removal opening, the other hinge part supports at least one adapter piece with arresting elements. Thereby, the snap hinge can be mounted on a container or on the locking piece of the same.

  • Patent number: 4296071
Abstract: Pipette with elastic bellows wherein the travel of the bellows is limited by preset stops. The bellows is prestressed between the stops over a range of movement within which the bellows possesses adequate springback force to return to a rest position predetermined by one of the stops.
